<p>Just did this last night on my Tailor and had 2 min 50 sec left on the timer. My Carpenter had well over 3 minutes left over wearing only the Othmir Tunic and the rest of his raid gear (Guess all that raid gear was why he could do it, eh?). Both had events to counter about 75% of the time. Countering events without fail = easy win.</p>

<p>I recently came back to Norrath after several months away and I was actually dreading this step in the quest from all the posts on the forums.  On my first try, I finished with 2mins30seconds left on the clock.  Maybe I'm lucky, but I dont think so.</p>

<p>While I can't boast a 100% first time success rate, I can say I've completed the shawl combine on 6 characters and it's really not all that bad. I've failed once because of a lag spike at a bad time, but I'd been having issues all day and should have known better than trying then. The other time was because I was simply not paying enough attention and died twice on the final combine. Still almost made it then, missed by only 5 seconds.</p><p>The only times I've failed were either due to computer or stupidity on my part, not because the time was unreachable. And keep in mind it was 10 min, which did in fact suck. 12 minutes is a challenge without being unreachable. Making it 14 or 15, you might as well not have any consequences for failing because you'd only be able to fail if you were being completely inattentive.</p>

<p>I died twice.. had to quit a combine 3 times due to messing up and still managed to have over 1min on the timer not wearing any crafting gear...</p><p>When I was warned about this part of the quest I thought it was going to be horrible. Turns out there is plenty of time to mess up a bit and still complete it in one go.</p>

<p>I made it through the second try on my carpenter.  I found a thread on here that had many hints on how to make it through and followed those.  One thing is to start the first combine and then accept the quest when you are approaching the last line of crafting.  That gains you some time.  Also, put all 5 on the table at the end of crafting, don't stop to place each one. </p><p>And yes, lag plays a very big role here.  Lag can make you miss an event causing you to die.  You need to check and make sure you aren't lagging if you can.  I know lag varies with me depending on the time of day, etc.</p><p>If I find that thread with the hints here I will put a link in. </p><p>Edit:</p><p>Here is one with some suggestions:</p><p><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=497722" target="_blank">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=497722</a></p>

Yes craft with a cat on the keybord dont help lol Done it 8 times each time success at first try and most of time with more than 2 min. Even success with one internet connection lost and death. But yes this quest ask you to know very well the mini game of crafting (too much ?)

Cancel craft as soon as you do a mistake dont wait to die <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> use all 3 kind of ability at every tick even when it ask you nothing, and count so you know when the next tic will happen and be ready to answere if it ask you something... and if it ask you nothing then 123 Craft all of them in same time then place them all at once. easy. Ho and dont stress, that dont help.

<p>took me more then one time(10 to be exact) but it was worth it. and I plan to do it on all my crafters when they get to htat point. I really felt that I earned the shawl.</p>

I did every encounter and did the in betweens and I'd still come up short. And I had every piece of equipment on possible. My husband did virtually nothing and it worked for him first time, everytime, with no equipment.</p>
