Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I installed the new driver because a new game I am playing requires it. That is when I knowticed that EQ2 after you hit play on the station launch pad the screen goes black as it tries to fire up the game but instead it crashes to desktop. I have tried Vanguard that works fine, Star Wars Galaxies works fine those are the other two Sony games I play with the new driver with no problems. It just seems to be EQ2 it don't work on. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Greetings,

Yes, we have seen some issues with the recent Nvidia driver releases. I would advise using the 186 series for now, since it contains the last stable version. You can download that file through the following link:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find...aspx?lang=en-us

Ahh, I'm blinded by my own will to log into the game. I just posted a new topic with the exact same problem. My apologies. It does seem to be a driver problem as I'm having the same issues. I will try the older drivers and see if that produces results.

There are some Beta drivers available from Nvidia that has straightened out my issues.

It doesn't come with any of the extra settings options but seems very stable even after hours of play.

If you have some computer expertise then it may be worth trying them, though.

Installed the 195 betas and I'm still getting the same issues I've gotten with any 19x build.

When I go from full screen to windowed mode while playing EQ2, the game screen loses all its UI components. The graphics are still there, but I can't interact with my in game inventory or chat windows. I've even tried the F10 key (not in game, but I think thats it) that toggles the UI, to no avail.

I've reverted back to the 186s that work perfectly.

Just curious if the issue I'm having is a driver or game issue.

T

When you switch to the windowed mode and are unable to interact with the UI, minimize the window then bring it back up and see if it works well then.

anytime I try to play the game in fullscreen - crash before it loads fully. anytime i try to switch to fullscreen from window - crash to desktop. i am using the 191 driver, but when i try to switch back to the 186, my monitor refuses to display in anything other than the lowest graphic setting - no idea why.

Are you saying that you aren't getting an option to set a higher quality level in the game, or that it simply doesn't have an effect when you change quality levels? Are you talking about the graphics settings in the game or the options in your graphics card control panel?

I'm somewhat confused by your comment so I'm not sure how to assist you.

when I roll back the drivers, and restart the computer, windows comes up in the lowest graphic setting - 800x600 with very few colors, and no matter what setting I select it will not change, and EQ wont load up at all.

when I use the newest drivers, the game wont run in fullscreen, and crashes if i try to load up anything else at all. even this web browser just made me crash out of EQ. no idea what the problem is, i didnt change anything since last time I played other than to download the updates for EQ2 =/

really making me wish I had my fifteen bucks back so I could turn on a game that works, I hate to say...

The problem you're describing here definitely isn't normal and indicates a deeper issue. Conflicting driver files seem like the most likely possibility so lets check that first. Please let me know how you uninstalled your current drivers before going back to v186
