Is it true that SKs can exploit the 6 bonus from VP/TSO without wearing 6 items? That would be quite unfair (e.g. putting on 6 VP, casting bloodletter and then switching over to the current 5 TSO pieces or replacing TSO pieces by avatar gear).

But balancing fighters has always been a problem that never seems to be fixed.

yea its true

It is actually something they fixed back in RoK. As soon as you take off the 6th piece it removes BL from you completely and you have to wait for the recast to put it up again and if you put it up with only 5 pieces on you get just 1 trigger of BL.

Now I know for a fact that other classes can bug this and make it so they get their 6 set without actually wearing 6 pieces. It takes recasting the ability multiple times and removing the item. *cough* Bruisers *cough*.

Since SKs can't recast BL right away they can't bug it like some other can either.

You're incorrect Bruener, they can currently cast it and then swap gear.

Aule@Guk wrote:

You're incorrect Bruener, they can currently cast it and then swap gear.

Funny because I just took a piece off yesterday and it removes BL right away. Unless there is some serious trick that I am unaware of at this time that is not the case. I guess I will have to ask around tonight.

I guess if it does work than it is in-line with what the other classes are buggin out on their 6-set.

I dunno how it works as I don't have an sk, but I know sk's that talk about using their VP set to get 2 charges since they don't have 6 pieces of tso gear. I know I've heard them complain that they zoned while not qualified for the bonus and so were down to only one charge and either had to wait 3 mins for the buff to cycle or needed to re-equip for the buff and zone out and back in. Oh that and when some idiot sk buys gear from the raid their in and overwrites their bloodletter when they zone in to loot, thanx gud stahking soe!

Unless you are saying that they can keep 2 triggers of BL without either 6 set on. In RoK that was changed pretty fast so that you couldn't put up 2 triggers unless you are actually wearing the 6 pieces. TSO set is exactly the same way.

|
Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. I don't know about TSO set, but you can put on 6 set VP, then cast bloodletter, then remove the VP gear and retain the 2 charges until you zone. All the sk's that I know who have 6 set VP do this.

But I know that this did work in the past in RoK but SOE did change it so you had to be wearing the set to get the bonus. Not sure how they would have broken that mechanic recently.

Would probably have been when they changed it so that disarming someone's pants doesn't break their set bonuses. Rather than, I dunno, not have a mechanic as stupid as disarming someone's pants?

Disarming an item breaks the set bonuses. just go to maidens (RoK) and have your helm disarmed constantly by the final named... you'll see a nice little spam saying you loose and recieve set bonuses.

You take off a piece and drop it to 5, the buff is stripped from you and the recast timer of 3 min is set on BL. Other classes might be able to bug stuff out, but SKs cannot.

Did you break out your old vp set and test it yet?

I can't verify the SK issue personally, but I'm told by other SK's that it indeed does work. You just have to reapply it everytime you zone (just like the templar exploit).

Got my buddy to test it with vp and tso gear. When he has 6 pieces of vp gear on and casts it, then swaps into tso gear the effect stays up. If he casts it with 6 pieces of tso gear on and then removes a tso gear piece then the effect drops.
|

I don't know what you guys are doing, but on my SK, i can keep my 6 piece VP set bonus when i swap out of it. The only problem is when i zone, that's the only time i lose the 2 BL and it changes to 1 BL. But if i swap gear just before zoning i'm fine.

I refuse to take all the time to put on VP set to just swap into TSO set to maybe where 1 less piece. Not to mention that it is not working as intended and I am sure will be fixed.

With TSO pieces this bug does not work.

other classes can exploit there vp armor too not just sk...

Avatar of Mischief. He pulls your pants down.

This is a prime reason why set gear is just a bad idea. Stick to individual pieces of gear, and put the Focus effects on individual pieces.
