Recently I've started playing EQ1 and EQ2 at the same time on the same account and have started to get frequent crashes. EQ2 simply drops to desktop or drops with a "failed to log you in" message.

I've eliminated pretty much everything else (multicore, other processes, etc). It happens quite often just standing around doing nothing. I'm playing on different machines. If I play a 2nd instance of EQ2 with a 2nd account on the same machine it never crashes. The shared account crashes regardless of what character is logged in.

Not conclusive, but pretty likely that there is a login server conflict between the two games.

Is is a reported or known issue? Is there any reason the two games should NOT work simultaneously on the same account? Any suggestions to avoid conflicts?

As far as I can remember , you are only allowed 1 login at a time per account and the login system enforces this , using the same account to play 2 games at the same time is a no-no.

It sometimes takes a short while to notice but eventually you will get kicked from the first game you start up.
