I just got the game 1 week ago and i made 1 of my char neutral wich make travelign around difficult...but its a game so im learning and having. The problemis that there are alot of CLAN camping at the port we cant leave our maps because we are trapped.

1 clan in particular called the Dragonier Knigth camp in group of 6 players at port and at maps exits and they attack every player. When i confronted a player of the clan who first name was Keama and told him/her that they are not allowed to do that. The player slayed me, that behavior alone show some serius behavior problem. And franckly i just want to have fun...and not to have to put up with people Psychological problem. There account should be cancelled so that they can better use their money in getting therapie (Sorry for my english). And when you slay a player because he/she is reading the rules to you then its time to turn off your computer put it in a box and return it to the store.

The problem is that as we reach lvl 10 clans keep attacking us in group. Unlike other MMO where PVP can be disable or Enable. You dont even have the time to learn the game before u reach lvl 10 that poeple with higher lvl kill you. It is very frustrating and i dont see why we should spend money on a game where poeple are allow to be so immature. PVP mean Player vs Player, NOT PLAYERS VS 1 PLAYER. The developper of the game had good intention when they made this game with clan option but good intention now is turning into a pain for other players who dont want to be part of a clan. We just wanted to have fun its just a game. And what can you do, your only 1 players against a clan, You make 1 complaint and they make 20 to 50 complaints. You confront their member for rule violation and they slay you.

To make the game fair for the new players the clans should be none existing. Or if it should then it should be enabled after lvl 40, 50. If you can make it to that lvl with getting complaint then you should be allowed has a reward to join a clan. The clan membership should be allow for good sportmenship. This would force poeple to be more respectfull of other players.

These behaviors of some players are sad because EQ2 is a very amazing game. But the clan option is a bad idea if you cannot disable or enable the PVP. And the point of playing in a PVP is to play against a player of about the same lvl not an entire clan.

I would like to take this opportunaty to complement the developper and the graphic art. I was blown away when i could build the feature of my char in an MMO. Keep up the good work and stay away from the Twinkies. ^O^

Greetings,I mostly play on the PvE servers, myself, so I'm not quite sure what the rules say about activities you're reporting. If you truely think that they are violating the rules of the game then you may want to /petition the GMs. As for the gameplay modifications you suggested, I would advise using the /feedback command in game since that will send your opinions directly to the game developers. You could also join us on the standard PvE servers if you want.

Okay ... this is going to be put as gently as possible, as you're obviously a new player to the game. It's not clans, it's guilds. Guilds are not the sole means of getting together. People from different guilds, or no guilds, often group together. Safety in numbers. Now, as for level 10, that's when you become able to attack, and be attacked, in PvP. Whether you kill 3 people singlehandedly or die because a half-dozen enemies rode past, saw you and then steamrolled you, it doesn't matter. You're going to die in this game. A lot. Moreso if you're new to the game. My first suggestion would be to learn the game a little on a PvE server first, to become comfortable with you class and the game mechanics.

Now, in PvP, you have to do things that the typical player on PvE does not. The reason? Players ain't AI controlled bots (well, some farmers, but that's a different thread). What is sufficient in PvE is nowhere near sufficient in PvP. Apprentice II or App IV is not going to cut it. Adept I's as an absolute bare minimum. Got a piece of gear you outlevelled? Upgrade it, and it had better be decent gear or it's a waste, because you'll still die. Everybody else here before you has put in an investment of time and effort, so they will have an advantage over you. Accept it. Gear up and you'll have a chance. Get to know some people, it'll help. But accept that you're going to die. The game used to be very new-player unfriendly on PvP servers; it took a long time before we were able to get some of those issues fixed. Now it's finally balanced; you can roll a new toon up and compete with the big boys in a relatively short time. But you're still going to have to put the effort in, and that's going to mean a few hours of work. Get used to it, because that's what half this game is. There are some good guides in the PvP section. Read some of the newer ones. They'll give you suggestions on how to gear up, where to gear up, and how to build a successful toon. But again, most important of all, accept that you will die a digital death when outnumbered, outgunned, or outplayed. And lose coin. So bank everything. Think of an FPS, like Battlefield 2. You can go on a rampage when playing against the computer, even on maximum settings, and easily rack up a 100-to-1 kill ratio. Now go on a public server. What happend? "They kicked the crap out of me?!" People at the keyboard usually trump NPC's. Harder opponents. That's why we play there. A lot of us played before PvP was an option, and were getting tired of PvE after a couple years, yet after a couple more years are still playing. Learn the ropes, make the investment, and you'll have more fun (and frustration) than playing PvE. But you've got to be willing to put in the effort.

Elorah 08-28-2008 04:17 PM

*huggles her server* I love my PvE server.... Lol. PvP is just not fun for me... entirely too stressful.... I have enough stress in life, I dont wish to pay for more..

Bloodfa 08-28-2008 04:35 PM

Wait ... I just reread this. You made neutral characters? As in you exiled them at level 10? Um .... are you nuts?!?! Everybody kills exiles whenever they can. Pick a side.

PeterJohn 08-28-2008 04:58 PM

By neutral, the OP probably means picked a neutral race and then a neutral city, thus making the toon EVIL.

Can you talk to others in the game from the opposite alignment? I thought you could not, but maybe that's just for tells? I've never played PvP.

Bloodfa 08-28-2008 05:42 PM

No, you can't talk to the enemy. But exiles are free for all, and can talk to each other. Anybody can kill an exile, regardless of level difference. So, the only way he could have talked to somebody who killed him would be either as an exile, or by logging an alt on their faction. Or he's full o' crap and trolling.

Wytie 08-28-2008 05:47 PM

Maybe ANOTHER exile killed him.

That fits, him talking to the person of HIGHER level that killed him.

He really is playing super duper hard mode and its not a good idea for new players at all.

Bloodfa 08-28-2008 05:54 PM

Exiling at level 10 is a bad idea for a veteran player.

TniEradani 08-29-2008 05:28 AM

omg you guys are so funny.

spiderman talked to the guy, but the guy didn't understand him, but spiderman didn't know this and that's why he's even more mad.

and ya, it's a little hard on newbies on a pvp server, but that's why pve servers exist. must be, i've been on one and can't understand any other reason.

@spiderman: hate to disappoint you, but we've seen pics of some devs and they definitely like twinkies.

what's a clan ? is this diablo2 forum ?

Sorffats 08-29-2008 01:12 PM

Since he's a new player to EQ2, he probably just made a /say talking to the other players. And since they couldn't understand him, they didn't respond and he probably took it as them ignoring him.Spiderman, here is the deal with pvp servers. Currently there are three factions (soon to be back to just two factions really ;p), there are no neutral races, classes, and etc. If you are a freeport citizen you fight qeynos and exiled. If you are a qeynos citizen you fight freeport and exiled. If you are an exile and thus have no citizenship, you fight freeport and qeynos and you can also attack yourselves to roll everyone else off your recent and pad your kill vs death ratio (probably over the head for a new player there, so that's another topic).People of an opposing alignment are not going to care if you need to get to zone x or whatever. You are the enemy to them. And, likewise, you shouldn't care if they need to. If they con green, dark blue, white, yellow, orange, or red to you; they are your enemy. If their name is the color purple or a light blue, then they are your friend and you can talk to them. If their name is green, dark blue, white, yellow, orange, or red and it outlined with a red line, then they can attack you and/or you can attack them. NOTE: I don't suggest running around attacking red cons though. Chances are, they're a bit more experienced and have better gear. The basic objective to pvp in EQ2 is kill or be killed.I'd suggest to you and any new player to EQ2 to make a new toon on a pve server where there is no pvp other than friendly duels and the occaisional arena fight.

Kneemin 08-29-2008 08:07 PM

I'm going to agree with some of the people who posted some suggestions here, but I need to add just ONE more thing. If you are truly a new player, DO NOT come into the forums complaining nerf this nerf that just b/c you got killed. You are new, you should expect it, its jungle out here and thers a lion standing in your face. This is how it is, there is nothing thats so broken especially with guilds, do a little bit of research be4 you come to the forums with arms flailing. This forum has TONS of constructive posts even stickied at the top, I suggest you visit them and learn the ropes, or get your own guild (note - not called a clan).~Knee

Nonetheless, simply proof that nerfing PvP locking and forcing adventurer XP didn't fix the problem, it simply created a new one by removing choice. People still experience the same difficulties with twinks. This newbie's encounter is testament.

number 1 what did you think would happen when you try a game that has been out for so long and you pick a PVP server where you play your first toon... second get off the docks you are lvl 10 moove away fromt the docks and towards the NPC's that have quest markers above there head..

i think it was funy that you had the nerve to even come on here the way you did..

please tell me did you really try to read them the rules? please i would love to know what rules you where reading them... was there some do rule that we could not kill people that i was not aware of... another thing your whole clans rant that you keept talking about means that you have a world of learning to do in this ame and your only hope is to hop over to a pve server where you and all the other carebears can read rules to each other all day long. you might even get EXP for that on carebear servers..

well my friend i wish you the best of luck in your time on the pvp server cause with the way you sound it looks liek you are a pve player who likes a thrill of pvp every blue moon type of player and you are in for a wild ride...

last thing would like to know what pvp game did you come from before where players where not trying to kill you? i was thinking maybe hello kitty online but you dont sound liek the kind of person who can handle pvp from even that game
