<p>I visited a house in South Qeynos.  It cost, from memory: 300,000 status plus some amount of plat.  The upkeep was approximately 19 gold and 60,000 status per week, I believe.</p><p>The owner of the house had a 77,000 status reduction, I believe from various items in the house.</p><p>Does that mean the owner of the house gains 17,000 status points every week?</p><p>Also, at least 2 toons had salesman's crates in the house.  I've seen that kind of thing before.  I think I've seen a house with salesman's crates belonging to up to 4 or 5 different toons.</p><p>How is it possible for 2 or more of my toons to share a house?  I've never looked into it, but I should.</p><p>Now, to combine my two questions.  If one of my toons buys a big status house in South Qeynos and three of my toons share the house, how many total sales crates can I place in the house?  If the house has a status reduction of 77,000 and has an upkeep of 60,000 and I have three toons in the house, would each of the toons earn 5666 status points per week?  ((77,000 - 60,000)/ 3 = 5666.6667)</p><p>Thanks for any thoughts on this.</p>

<p>no, you will not earn status because u have more reduction than it costs for upkeep as for the other question, i dunno.</p>

The status cost reduction will simply mean that the upkeep of the house is reduced to mere cash. The idea that you could get free status without grinding writs or selling status items is just plain silly. They are meant to be goodwill earned for services rendered to the city you are a citizen of.

How is it possible for 2 or more of my toons to share a house?  I've never looked into it, but I should.<<<</p><p>On your "house access" tab in the /house menu, you can set permissions for individual characters.  If you set a particular character to be a "trustee", then that character can place sales displays in that house.   When people search on the broker for items in those sales displays, it will show up with that character's name but with the address of that house.</p><p>The rent must be paid on the house where you have placed displays.   You do not have to pay rent on any house that does not have displays placed. </p><p>There is a limit to the number of displays in any given house which is generally twice the number of rooms from what I understand (I've never hit the limit - I have put 9 displays successfully into my 5-broker-slot house in SQ).</p></span>

A good example of a house much like you describe is <a href="http://www.vikinganswerlady.com/souls/SQLiving.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sigrdrífa's Hall at 2 Bayle Court, South Qeynos, Lucan D'Lere Server</a>.This house has:<ul><li><b>5</b> rooms</li><li>initial purchase cost of <b><span style="color: #999999;">4p</span> <span style="color: #ffcc00;">83g</span> 84s, <span style="color: #66ccff;">300000 status</span></b></li><li>guild level <b>30</b> required to buy</li><li>weekly rent of <b><span style="color: #ffcc00;">19g</span> 36s, <span style="color: #66ccff;">60000 status</span></b></li><li><b>6</b> vault and <b>6</b> sales slots</li><li>holds <b>500 </b>items (base figure)</li></ul>You can have roughly twice the number of sales displays as you have sales slots, with any one character being limited to the base number of sales slots.  So in my house, my main character, Sigrdrífa, has six sales displays. <p>Thank you for the helpful info!  Yes, I think that is the house I had in mind.  I did not realize I needed a guild level of 30.  I assume that means my toon must be in a guild of lvl 30 or higher: not that I must be the leader of a guild of lvl 30 or higher.</p><p>That house looks nice.  I would not mind owning it, although I should probably wait until my carpenter gets higher in lvl to make status reduction items (he is only lvl 43 right now).</p><p>That house is probably the only reason I would move one of my toons to Qeynos.  All of them are in Kelethin on one server and in Neriak on another server.</p><p>As for two toons sharing it, it is probably cheaper for them to each have their own 5-room house in Kelethin.  But the houses in Kelethin don't look quite as nice as the one you described, and I visited.</p>

Couple other things to add here.Don't forget you can trade up your houses. Its not like you <u>have</u> to go from a one-room to a 5-room in one day. A lot of us moved from the newbie starter homes, to the 2 room inns, then to the 3-room row-houses. This allows you the time to build up the status you need for a down-payment on the 5-room, allows the space to start collecting your status-reduction housing items, (let you get a feel for decorating a different lay-out of housing... because <i>a 5-room with a bunch of high status furniture just piled on one wall is a crying shame.) </i>and if you guild is not yet 30 gives you a place to live till you get all those writs done.Also as well as following Seidhkona's links, go to the tavern/norrathian homeshow section of this forum. There are a lot of very nice, very house proud folks there who can give you more detailed advice then you might get on this thread. I can't find the link now, but there is a thread on homeshow that lists the different prices and selling slots for the mid-range houses. Or to put it more simply, a 3room house might have 3 broker slots, the 3room next door might have 4 broker spots for only a slightly higher rent.

I am an interior decorating addict, and I tend to go with some very concrete themes. Wherever I can, I use mastercrafted items, because they give you more status reduction than a handcrafted item of the same level.Before moving to a big house, do gradually build up your pieces. I stack up what I think I will need in the bank ahead of a decorating project, then dump it all in the house at once, dropping pieces in the rooms where I think I will use them. I'm proud of <a href="http://www.vikinganswerlady.com/souls/FreydisaHouse/Freydisa.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Freydísa's acorn at Aerie Amree in Kelethin</a> (also Lucen D'Lere Server).  The round rooms can present a bit of challenge, but with the new redwood room dividers, you can square off walls as needed and subdivide spaces very easily.  In Freydísa's place, I decorated it before the new dividers were introduced, and used a wall of bookshelves to wall off a "secret" crafting area. The crafting area needed to hold an accounting area and the work-station, plus some stuff to entertain the eye while crafting, so it is a narrow slice off one of the round rooms.

I'm looking to upgrade from my 3room (cash/no status) row house to a 5room, how can I tell how much status offset I already have?
