I'm not sure if you'll see a great difference between your Mystic and your Defiler until you get them to the higher levels, from what I've read. The way I see the Defiler is that they are a healer primarily, and any damage is sort of a plus i.e. we are not a DPS class (but then no priest is truly a DPS class anyway). They are a pro-active healer, like the Mystic, in that they ward but also (and forgive any n00bness here, my defiler is still young) the heals are sort of self-lifetaps (to a small extent) which then progress to mobs life and power taps. I guess the other thing is that with Defilers the main damage/buff/debuff is disease, so added defense vs disease and also a good partner for any disease dealing players. The other thing I've read is that Defilers get a group cure for stun, stifle, mezze type attacks, which sounds darn useful to me and I know I haven't had on other healers I've played (as far as I understand all healers get a group cure, but for different things). For me I'm trying to find a balance between melee and casting damage, so that I can solo okay and still contribute in groups and raids where they insists healers stand at the back out of the way. A couple of links (they don't say that much but they may help plus they have links to spells and AA, which might also help you get a feel for what they do):http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Defilerhttp://eq2.tentonhammer.com/index.p...splay&ceid=1092
