I am sort of confused by the post not content but the reason you made it. No suggestions, or this doesnt work for me changing this would help. Though for comparison i thought i might put down my day.

Log in handle hellos and tells, chat to guildies and check mail.

Check broker see how much i made over night, look for a few things to buy, head out to kunark.

Mine a while to feed the jewelery bug, wo ho 2 rares in an hour.

Bounceback to freeport . discover its a while before i can use the tynn or the emerald, do a few writs well 6 actually, acknowledge the cheers and applause from guild

Chat with a few people while running arround near hightown reminicing about hunting wurms for the cloak quest in eq1.

See raid needing healers head over, discover mages dont think "carefull this mob has a nasty aoe stay at max range applies to them" think ok we have a drige perhaps a few repair bills might teach them the difference between swashie and squishie, finish raid.

Head back home, repair , gripe at repair bill, head to the fens

See friends in tt head over , mentor and do a run through sos.

Head back to fens pick up writs from mouse at the docks start killing , start chatting end up doing more of the talking with friends than killing, realise its almost 2 hours past when i should have gone to bed.

Do good nights, /camp desktop

To the OP here's a couple of ideas:

1) Make your own group instead of waiting for one.

2)Do some writs, or run solo quests to max out AA points.

3)Craft.

4)Roll an alt.

5)Quit making useless posts and wasting time. If you're going to make a post like this atleast come up with some ideas or suggestions for SoE for content and such that would improve your gaming experience.

6)If all else fails, quit.

Hope this helps and sorry if I sound rude its been a long day.

Geez, man, you've been playing for over 3 years now and have, probably, done and seen everything you can in the game. Maybe now is a good time to take break and try something new?

ps. I took a break and have been playing Pirates of the Burning Sea (for something very different from EQ2), waiting for Age of Conan (/tap) and even picked up Vanguard for cheap ($20) just to see what EQ1.5 would have been like.

pps. I expect to return to Norrath someday; I didn't give away all my stuff.

My EQ2-day:- I log in while I am drinking my morning coffee.- I say "Good morning" to my guildmates. - I check the guild events to see if anyone looted something I need or did something cool while I was away.- I then check my mail for orders (my sage actually gets orders now for the first time since I started the game).- I go check the broker to collect the plat I made the night before and to readjust the prices on the stuff I am selling.- I then check my friends list to see who is on at that crazy hour (I live in Europe but play on an American server).- As if they knew I hit "Z", I invariably get at least a couple of tells from other wizard-friends wanting to discuss the advantages or disadvantages of some piece of equipment.- I notice that my coffee has become cold and that I really ought to head off to work.[I work at my RL-job.][I come home and spend some quality time with my family.][I eat dinner and put my kids to bed.]- I log back in to EQ2.- I immediately hit "U" to see who is where in my guild. On raid days (2-3 evenings a week):- I go through my stuff to make sure I have what I need for the raid, and...- ...I travel to the zone-in and inspect the other raiders to see what cool equipment they have, and then...- ...I get on TS to chat it up with my guildmates and anyone who happens to be along for the raid, then...- ...I zone into the raid and get to work killing the mobs and hoping for loot.On non-raid days:- Depending on if someone in the guild is organizing/running some instance, I'll either ask or get asked if I can join (on my main or one of my lower level alts)...- ...rinse and repeat...- ...or I'll check my mail, the broker, and my friends list again.- Depending on my mood, I will either join an existing guild group and go run an instance, ...- ...start organizing my own group (with guildmates, friends, or random pickups), ...- ...or say "yes" to one of the people sending me tells asking if I want to come help with some quest, ...- ...or join one of the groups LFM in the world channels. Some days I just can't be bothered to join up in all the groups and opportunities being offered:- ...so I log onto one of my alts and go questing, ...- ...or I stay on my main and go visit ALL of the named in JW, ...- ...or I put on my EoF goggles and go shiny-hunting, ...- ...or I go harvesting in hope of finding rares, ...- ...or I go tradeskill for a bit or even go craft any spells that were ordered that day, ...- ...or I roll up another alt, to see how it is.After doing one of the many things mentioned above...- I usually port to Maj'Dul to sell off all the stuff I have looted to the merchant in one of the courts (yes, I have faction with all three)...- ...and to place the good stuff on the broker.- I end up getting into a conversation with someone about some raidzone, some equipment, or whatever.- I eventually notice that I should have been in bed like two hours earlier, so...- ...I say my "goodbyes" and log out looking forward to the next day in Norrath.I almost always have SO MUCH TO DO IN THIS GAME, that my biggest difficulty is deciding what it is that I want to do, but maybe it is just me.<img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />

Thunderthyze 01-21-2008 10:45 AM

I think that the OP's point is that RoK holds little interest once the solo grind to 80 is complete. Yes you can raid but if you're not in a position to join a t8 raid equipped guild then there really isn't that much to do except grind the same old instances and repetitive quests for AAs. Roll on Epic Weapons Quests!

Cozumel wrote:
We decide we might as well get 'em access, so Wizard pops a group invis. We head down towards the door, and someone decides its a good idea to farm a shiney with group invis on. Group gets jumped, dies, revive.
Wow, you would think by level 80.....Soloing to cap 4tw.

Rqron 01-21-2008 11:23 AM

Hmm I never knew wiz has group invis..wow I guess I learn something new every day....:=))J.C.

Eugam 01-21-2008 11:28 AM

Epic weapon quest wont keep people busy for long. How long.. 6 weeks ?I started to do any book quest i could find. Did 5 or 6 in Cazic Thule. 2 or 3 in Ruins of Varsoon. Still have some old L&L to do. Yeah.. exiting endgame. And it seems EoF and RoK has no books ;( Whats with casual raiding ? Are they not doable with PU's ? I never seen any LFM for a T8 raid. I am a returner, anything changed here ?

LadyGalasya 01-21-2008 11:53 AM

RoK DOES have book quests...but they are all the collect the pages on the ground kind

Whitewillow 01-21-2008 03:11 PM

Wow, tough crowd. I'm not 100% certain of the OP's intent, but I was just laughing when I read it... It's so typical. I've had so many similar days, it was funny reading it from someone else. I personally don't think s/he was really looking for answers, so much as just offering a light-hearted "day-in-the-life" type snapshot. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong though. Anyway, it gave me a chuckle.

Cozumel 01-21-2008 09:48 PM

Lol..you are correct...Its just a day in the life of RoK for me... and I was just kinda making a point of what I generally go through...And yes, I've done all the instances, and quests... so other than harvest and run the occasional instance to break the bordom, there's not much else I do.... and no, I REFUSE to craft.

Why do you even care ? Are you bored ? Or is it fun to look down on others. Do you feel better now ?Pathetic is that SoE inofficially sold the game to Blizzard. Pathetic is, that a lot of new quests are testcases for The Agency. SoD anyone ? Germa Prash anyone ? Investigation skill 40/400 anyone ? An epic hammer twice the size of my character is pathetic. Or should i say a DEV team thats using phallus symbolism is just sad on has no life ? Who is a muppet ? Those who see the truth or those who keep lieing to themselfs ? Muppets are happily paying to play beta test of The Agency ? I know for sure, Billy is a muppet.Well, i am not angry. I just LOL'ed

MY EQ2 day - yesterday - since they vary so muchCome home from work.Go to local shop.5:45 Logon to my main (74 - I'm not rushing to 80), remind guild about the raids I will be running later, pick up Jaguar totem from shared bankSwitch to my first alt, stock up on poisons, check sales - 88g move to raid start.Get something to eat6:40 Start inviting for raids. Struggle to get people.7:30 Start first guild writ raid with 8 people, 1 healer.8:00 Get second healer and do second and third guild writ raids9:15 Second healer leaves, but we decide to try the fourth raid anyway. Wipe once but succeed.10:15 Stop raiding. Only loot was a level 25 fabled shield (obviously a bug I have already entered feedback about the guild writ raids not having been updated for RoK). Send shield to a level 26 guard in the guild. LOts of AA though and guild xp.Decide to do a bit of crafting to wind down, with TV on. Replace most of what was sold.Switch to third alt to continue crafting until program finishes. Do a rush order, all the handcrafted pristines for the new level he just got, make an MC item for my second alt.11:00 Program finishes so I log out and go to bed.On Monday's I run lower level raids for my guild.I started because I wanted to do a T5 raid for a quest, but only top tier raids were normally being run (KoS at that time).

My EQ2 day ....

Wake up, make coffee, check to see if the servers will be down ... realize I couldn't care less anyway, because there's probably nothing to do ... go back to painting miniatures.

I think I've spent maybe an hour or two over the last week logged in, & that was only to tell my guildies I was just taking a break.

What's the point of this thread? Well, it seems to me there's more than a few people in the same boat ... people who can't find a reason to even log in any more. Something tells me that's not quite what SOE envisioned, just two months after the release of such a highly anticipated expansion.

On the bright side, I've made significant progress on my 15mm armies since I realized just how boring EQ2 has gotten. So I suppose I should thank SOE, for giving me such a great incentive to do other things.

The OP is just making the observation that server populations at lvl80 are low, and that the group content in RoK is not very condusive to PUG's.

This is dead on true.

The big failure of RoK is how SoE tuned group content to satisfy the hardcore raiders. If they find the content too PITA or difficult they become frustrated like the OP. This content is usually their PRIMARY source of upgrades. I'd really like to get my hands on the people who made that decision, so I can slap them for being so short-sightedly dumb.

2. Fix the freekin' loot tables on the dungeons & instances already. The next time I see a Treasured Chest drop from a named that contains nothing but another piece of Skyfire Crap Of Crapness, I'm going to freekin' scream. & BTW, while you're at it, PLEASE fire the rejects you stole from Blizzard who are ruining this game.

3. Put some darn Heroic content back in the overlands zones, or ... or .... or ... heck, I don't know. DO SOMETHING for all the duos & trios who "group", but not enough to be able to handle ROK dungeons. We little groups need some content too!!! As it is, a good duo (my Swashy & my guildy Warden) can turn all outdoors ROK content into mush, & we're bored silly doing it. It's pretty freekin' grim when, at 80th level, I have to solo just to get some kind of freekin' challenge.

4. Up the freekin' difficulty of COA, Vaults, & Chelsith. Those are three uber-boring instances. It's bad enough we don't have enough dungeons, but the ones we DO have are boring snooze-fests. This is PARTICULARLY true of COA, which is just ungodly, witlessly, painfully dull.

5. I don't know, I guess every suggestion made has been fiercely rejected by the OMG-It's-TOO-HARD crowd, but, really ... bring back SOME kind of meaningful death penalty. Heck, if all you do is double the freekin' repair costs, that alone might help. But I'm really, really, really sick of people who think nothing of dying, because there's almost no real penalty.

Please, SOE. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE repair this piece-of-crap expansion. You've largely ruined Kunark, but, it's not irrepairable. Just get 'er done!

There you have your "freekin' challenge".

Or maybe then you note what the result is, when people always cry for more challenge .. namely the biggest problem in my eyes .. the missing "low" heroic content that can be done with 2-3 people at least when its green.

Why do you even post Flaye? To whine?

You don't even play to game anymore, go do something else.

But, you're right. I don't even play any more. I should just cancel my subscription. I'm quite sure that's what Sony would encourage me to do, too.

Edit: Actually, the only reason I haven't yet cancelled is that I'm waiting to see what the Epic weapon quest will look like. It's quite possible that some more time-life will be injected, to keep me interested for another month or so, & of course, there's the possibility that Kurn's Tower will be coming "soon", too. But I'm expecting that both will turn out to be easier than they should be, & that after I've done Kurn's a couple of times, it won't be worth going back to.
