Just like to say well done to everyone involved on the rollout of the expansion, pretty smooth in my opinion. I have no idea what goes into making this day run smoothly but I think whoever is involved can feel pretty good. Gratz.

Dreyco 11-13-2007 11:17 PM

Whole-heartedly agree! I came home, patched, and logged right into my character.Well done!

toadkiller72 11-13-2007 11:19 PM

Completely disagree and from personal experience too

See the multiple threads on people who bought the Kunark All-in-One and got flagged for nothing but Kunark

And others had paid for EoF and had is stripped away by registering the Kunark expansion

Smoothe for you - [Removed for Content] for me and others so I don't give any kudos

Grats on being a lucky one hehe. As usual, there was ALOT of people having troubles even with things that should be so simple on Sony's end. Im just glad we get more nastalgic goodies

I have never been able to play a SOE product on the day of release unless I had beta files I could copy over. At this point I've just come to expect that I won't get to play until the next day. In reality the only MMO I have played that didn't have network issues on launch day was LOTRO. KUDOS to them.

interstellarmatter 11-13-2007 11:50 PM

Very smooth! Thanks guys!

Arinwulf 11-14-2007 12:32 AM

SMOOTH ROLLOUT???? You need to stop taking oxycontin with your fellow delusional friend, Rush Limbaugh.

SOE does a lot of good things, but DVT is not one of them. You want to experience a smooth rollout go play LotRO.

In the meantime, I hope there are a lot of software QA guys having to stay up late with the programmers to find and fix the problems we are seeing.

Igu 11-14-2007 12:35 AM

Real smooth...except for those people who used SOE's indicated Pre-order retailers and have NO idea when or IF they will get their orders.I would call it amateurish, personally. But considering 14 EQ1 and 4 EQ2 expansions, it is more pathetic. They should have this down by now.

erin 11-14-2007 12:40 AM

Smooth? Are you kidding me?I'm not usually a basher, but this is insane.I took off early from work hoping to download and play.6 hours later I'm STILL DOWNLOADING. Hour and a half left on one comp, 17 hours on another. This is smooth? On top of that I didn't get the adv packs like I was supposed to.So far, I haven't gotten anything I've paid for. Glad its working out for you, but a lot of us are getting screwed as we usually do on release day.I have some faith that it will all get straightened out, I've never yet had a problem that didn't eventually get cleaned up, but there's a lot that I've just missed out on. I had really hoped to finally have a shot at a server or worldwide discovery for example (crafting), but I'm pretty sure that's over with.<--- one very disappointed customer.

Trillien 11-14-2007 12:50 AM

Smooth patch to two computers, been playing for a few hours...the problems will be resolved in a couple of days, I am sure. Try to remember that the fires in California put them a week behind schedule. I think they deserve a big chunk of credit for meeting the proposed date. I could just hear the screaming if they let it slip...

Well, it sucks to be you guys but for many of us, it was a smooth rollout. Why can't you just start your own bashing thread instead of polutting this one.

Teljair 11-14-2007 01:23 AM

Oh I can't say how smooth it was since Sony like usual made it so several retail chains did not get the expansion today, nor preorders. Most EB/Gamestop stores did not get it in, etc.

LOTRO was by fare the smoothest rollout for any game PERIOD. Every major FREE I might add update goes extremly smooth to the point the servers are always up 2 to 3 hours earlier then expected.

Had to check out this thread - reminds me a bit of the "human interest" story they put on TV news broadcasts - 29 minutes of death, famine and disaster and they stick in a story about some little kids kitten being rescued by a fireman to make you fell better lol.

Ealthina 11-14-2007 01:25 AM

Horrible roll out... lied to about incremental downloads for pre-orders.. took m e12 hours exactly to download the entire thing. Typical SoE. Happened like this with EoF too.

Hamervelder 11-14-2007 02:01 AM

I wouldn't call it a smooth rollout. This rollout certainly wasn't as buggy as Desert of Flames was, but it isn't their best, either. The long download times are frankly annoying, but were expected. What I didn't expect was to have to spend several hours patching -- twice. We patched for about 2 hours this morning, then I spent an hour patching my beta install, because the patcher didn't download the new zones. My roomie spent another 3 and a half hours repatching her machine. I wouldn't even be playing, if I hadn't been able to simply update my beta installation. However.... we have not had repeated emergency maintenance downtimes as we have when past expansions were released. Antonia Bayle has yet to crash. So far as I can tell, the game does work, for those fortunate enough to get past the debacle that is the patcher. All in all, the release was not bad.

strNpwrKC 11-14-2007 02:32 AM

Surpised no ones mentioned the pop ups installed with the Launcher now What the hell every they are. Not very nice (that was put as nicely as possible)

CuriousGeorge 11-14-2007 02:33 AM

Have to voice my disappointment at the rollout as I paid for "All-in-One" but I have only gotten RoK. No other expansions, no adventure packs. The reason I am disappointed is that I skipped buying the EoF All-in-One to wait for RoK. The failure on their part to live up to the All-in-One promise meant that I can not play a Fae/Arasai like I had intended to today. I was planning on delaying my Sarnak until later as I already have spent considerable time in Beta playing one.

So instead of playing EQ2 today like I had planned for a long time now I played TF2.

I have read that they will be coming once the pre-order payments are processed but I won't be holding my breath till then.

Vukota 11-14-2007 02:34 AM

Bought the expansion today at GameStop.

Loaded it. Downloaded a few patches.

Been playing ever since with no down time.

Like butta..

Azash 11-14-2007 02:37 AM

No one has mentioned the changes to the music system causes the game to not work on any system that has a malfunctioning/broken sound card. They worked perfectly before RoK, but now no longer work. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon. I don't have the cash to replace my entire system because of this.

If you uncheck this box you will be using the old non-adaptive system. Thanks!

LOL, I still have another 32 hours downloading and I have spent the last 4 days reinstalling with constant patching :S.

Vinlesu 11-14-2007 06:36 AM

Smooth to me, download in about 1 hour (God I love cable) no trouble logging in, saw no lag. My only problem was my custom UI (So not soe's fault) which took me abotu 3 hours to fix after finding out that the updated ui made a second dir. But everything looks great.
