Anyone know when we will be receiving our Beta keys from purchasing the Equinox magazine? I am curious cause the expansion is really not too far away so I figured they would be beta'ing it by now...or very soon. Also, anyone know HOW we are going to receive these keys? In Email? Just added to our account?

You really should have read as much info as you could have when purchasing the magazine. There were terms and conditions which plainly explains certain things. The most significant thing being your needing to have an application in on the beta. If you don't apply to be in the beta, the magazine beta key offer will be invalid. You can find the beta sign up here:<a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=382267" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=382267</a>Sign up for the beta then sit back and wait patiently. The chances are reasonably good, the magazine purchase beta keys will be released closer to the end...when they need stress testing done. And right before the pre-order beta keys are sent out to those who pre-order the expansion.
<p>If you pre-ordered Equinox, you've already been entered into the Beta when you filled out your info for ordering the mag. When you get your key... you just have to be patient and wait like everybody else who's signed up or pre-ordered.</p>
I had signed up for the Beta...I was just curious if anyone had knew when it was going to be available....even stress tests normally last a month or more and with the release date for RoK being Nov 13th, I would expect to start seeing info anytime.
Rumor has it that they've been doing a closed Beta for "Friends and Family" for a bit, so I think there's been some "testing". But since they put out the sign-up link now, it's just a matter of time for people getting their email. The beta is usually a link to download a beta patcher. I guess when somebody posts that they're in Beta, we'll know it's *really* started. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

True, but then there's always somebody who knows somebody, who knows somebody else and word gets around anyway.
<p>I have been in all the betas so far... usually they invite friends and families, then followed by chosen raiding guilds, and 3-5 weeks before launch of the game they start inviting everyone else a batch at a time. The last group 1 week before launch.</p><p>Don't ask the DEVs to tell you anything about this since it is NDA, nor will they make any comments that anything is on time, late, etc... We are coming to the 4th Expansion. I think they know what they are doing.. None have been late, and we all played as promised.</p><p>Beta invites will come when they come. The game is not due until NOV 13th... It is not even October.</p>

I sent a beta app. Will have to wait and see now

Modabi just answered the entire question and purpose of this thread. Only question in my head is when woudl we get the information, after the beta launches.

Sure, you will be contacted and told you have to apply for the Beta. When ordering the magazine, at no time did anyone agree to the NDA, terms and conditions that you agree to when you apply for the Beta.If you do NOT apply for the Beta and click the "I agree" button to the NDA and Terms of Use, I'm serious, you will not EVER receive a Beta key. You absolutely MUST agree to the NDA and Terms of Use per the application process in order to EVER be considered for the Beta. This is common sense. What you quoted from Gnobrin doesn't change anything I've said. Ordering the magazine was not, in itself, any way shape or form part of the Beta signup process. If you think otherwise, you are wrong.

<p>From my understanding and memory of past beta's, when you download the special beta patcher you agree to everything also. Its in the fine print with the email and the entering of the key code to register your account for beta. </p><p>So who knows, maybe just this once we give the actual developers a break and believe what they say? you know cause maybe....possibly...they actually know what they are talking about since they are the ones conducting it? I know so many people know exactly what is going on when they sit in their basement in front of the pc...much more than the people actually working at the SOE offices, but sometimes even office peons get something right.</p>
I'm pretty sure you'll have to agree to the NDA and other things everytime you use the beta client, and also probably get directed to a page to download the beta cleint that also makes you accept the NDA and terms. Just a guess, anyways you dont have to register for beta if you bought Equinox, i did but only cause I was bored and wondered where the link went <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> good thing too cause my email information was waaaaay wrong lol

Unfortunately, said email can arrive between the time you agree to the NDA...up until the day before the expansion is released. No where is it stated at what point or stage we gain access to the beta.

[Removed for Content] reading this thread, this is classic some people just HAVE to have the last word and cant say they were wrong [Removed for Content] .. has to be a chick..get over it let it go its just a game. Most of the people that want IN are only there to play not look for problems..
I don't know either, I ordered the mag and signed up for the beta, but haven't received one. Not going to sweat it though.. I figured when I bought the silly thing that I either would get in the last week or not at all anyway. *shrug* But it is an interesting read...even if it does smell funny.

I know at least 18 ppl in game most of them casual<span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: "Times New Roman";">acquaintances</span> and they always get SOE beta invites even though theyhavent played the game on a regular basis since before DOF. HOWdoes this happen?? SOE and most other gaming companies giveguilds that have had a presence in mutlitple games in the past freeinvites. So ppl like me you have never recieved an SOE beta invite but atm havethe time to test and has shown in the past to have frequent bug andfeedback reports get nothin even when i buy that magizine. Sorry venting a bit I guess overall if i am invited or not the general lack of any info or promotion on the expansion i think is odd. Its a month away and the only new stuff we have learned since E3 is the possability of more AA's for the current trees. and 6 ish new pics. Theres nothin to get excited about.
Any word yet whatsoever on when beta invites will commence for those of us that pre-ordered the magazine? If I remember right without any previous promotion I had an invite to EoF beta by this distance out from release.
I recommend keeping all the worry and conjecture to <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?start=105&topic_id=384338" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this thread.</a> No point having two threads like this. They had technical problems. They are working on getting us in. We still have lots of time to test and try to get the bugs out, so try not to panic. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Looking forward to testing the new warlock spells, tbh.
<p>Only 4 weeks left to test.</p><p>I'm kinda wondering if 4 weeks is enough time to test the entire expansion. I can imagine whoever does finally get into beta, will get buffed to 70. But, in order to really test <span style="color: #ff3300;"><b>ALL</b></span> the content you'll need to be level 80. So, a few weeks for a bunch of people to get to level 80, and a few weeks for the high end content to be tested? Seems like it may be really tight on time. I'm not saying it can't be done, it just seems rushed, and I am praying that rushing the beta doesn't payoff with an incredibly bugged expansion. </p><p><span style="color: #00ff00;"><b>/keeps fingers crossed</b></span></p><p><span style="color: #00ff00;"><b>/wishes for beta invite</b></span></p>
