I created a defiler, after a fairly long break, who is now lvl 11. Im looking to duow/ my brothers zerker, group, (or solo if i have to) and i have a couple questions: 1: What AA line should i go down? I read that int line is good are there any others? 2: Any equipement or spell upgrades that i must have? 3: A bit off topic, but what is that little window that when you start out is in the top of your screen that shows you the timers on buffs, DoTs and debuffs called? every time i create a new character its there but then i log out and its gone. how do i stop that from happening? this would really help me out with the wards i will soon be getting and my DoTs and debuffs

1. well for low lvls I can tell you this much. if you're looking to dps INT and AGI would be two good lines. you get spell dps from int and melee dps from agi

2. well... the only "must have" item i can think of would be the shaman hat that drops in Vaults. it's a nice little mana regen hat. as for spells i would say getting them all to adept3 after you hit maybe lvl 45ish would be in your best interest.

3. I believe you may be talking about your Maintained Spell window. Alt-M is how you bring it up.

My main piece of advice is Max out your wards. Any time you have a Master 2 come up when you get that little plus sign every couple lvls Pick the ward spell. Our main job is to prevent damage. After all, those other wussy (j/k) healer classes are only reactive, healing after damage has been delt, we are proactive and prevent it all together (hehe).

True, but once it has been dealt - especially in a PvP environment, you are sometimes wondering why your heals are so slow..and where all your power went!

I'd advise doing the KoS AA's first (Shaman Tree) and the Defiler tree 2nd , unless something drastic happens and the devs improve some of the choices. I took WIS first before starting down the INT and AGI lines, but didn't master any of them...just took a bit here and a bit there till I got the things I wanted. (WIS first since most chain armor up until T7 doesn't have much in the way of WIS on it..and items to boost your power pool are few and far between).

PvP as a Defiler is kind of tough solo. Heck killing much of anything - NPC or PK - is more easily done when you have a nice stealthed assassin backing you up. That said, in a group you really bring a lot to it.

We have had discussions about "Dogdog or No" for PvP. I'm one of the ones that say the Dog is not an asset, and choose AA's that don't require dogness to work.

Good luck with it!

(Signature does not reflect: Tarah, 70 Dreadnaught Defiler/Ariel 70 Dreadnaught Warden - Venekor) and:
