LEt me start out by saying that i am not a bot maker, plat seller, or anything of the sort. WHat i am is a guy new to a pvp server (about 4 weeks) with absolutely no cash or gear and i am looking to supplement the class i play most (ranger) with a guy that can do good solo against nameds and such (my ranger, though good dps, is not the best at killing nameds solo, unless they are way down on the con list or he has a lot of space to run around without pulling add agro)

I have played a wizard before, but dont want to go that route again and have always been interested in conjurer, and am hoping to kill two birds with one stone. Namely, to try out conjurer, and secondly, to fund my other characters with one that can actually kill nameds and farm those areas that will give me access to stuff that can gear up my other characters. I've been considering warlock as well, and have a templar and a warden that i have yet to try to kill nameds with, but i really am more interested in the conjurer just because i have never played a pet class and have always wanted to try it.

ANy help will be appreciated, thanks!

Conjurors also aren't the BEST soloers, but we're in the top 6. It takes time and patience, but it can be done. Low levels just send pet and burn. Middle levels, use root as often as you can. Once you hit about 46 soloing REALLY starts taking some serious attention. At 55 then we get our 45 second unbreakable snare, so that's nice if you have room to run around, etc. Good luck, and I'm sure there are better soloers out there with advice.

As a 65 conjy I don't have trouble soloing single lower blue ^^^ heroics with the tank pet. I cast the damage shields on the pet, start off the fight with a hex doll that has a slow effect, send pet in when the casting timer is at about halfway. That way I can cast the secondary pets and then start nuking, or heal the main pet as necessary. Just keep your pet and pet stances at adept III or above.

Higher blues and evens are risky, even if you open with Frigid Winds, which is the 45 second unbreakable snare. The problem is that the refresh timer on it doesn't start until the duration ends, which means if the mob isn't dead when it ends, you have a good 8 seconds or so that you have to keep the it rooted or snared (which can be difficult if you have several DOTs going with the pet smacking it), or stunned. Since you want to avoid having the mob live longer than 45 seconds, it's most efficient to use the mage pet, which has the hit points of a wet paper bag. So if you get resists, then you end up running or dead real fast.

It's even possible to kill yellows or even orange ones (need good gear for that because of mana, resists etc). @ Sinningia You said, that you break your roots with the dots and pet hitting hit, so when you root, don't have dots activ and back off pet . For really difficult (single-target, or named with very low con company) nameds, my strat is the following. Pre-fight cast blazing avatar, elemental vestment and vehement gem (and maybe plane shift), send pet and burn, if pet hp gets low, frigid winds, backoff pet, abort all dots and swarm pets, root mob, abort frigid winds. You shouldn't use our melee proc because it's also a dot and can break root. When Elemental vestment and vehement gem are up again, begin the same. Use the time in between to get mana up, heal pet, heal yourself if possible. As long as you have some space and don't get resisted in the wrong moment every melee mob should be possible. It's more interesting with mobs with AEs and caster mobs. Two tips for them, like we, they have a limited cast range, stay out of that when they are rooted and you are fine. If you can't stay out of range hide behind a edge, pillar etc. If your pet has aggro, the things go for the pet and you can run around freely.
