New Players are turned off because twinks gank them unmercifully - Other than the "satisfaction" of an easy kill, it appears most people lock and twink because T2 is where a lot of the population is. I would argue that T7 and T2 PvP are similar in many different ways, with the biggest exception being the time it takes to get to each tier. Given the choice, why would someone spend months grinding 60 levels when in 2 days you can have roughly the same experience? If the new subscriptions are actually going that fast, then maybe we can have some zones where the level difference is smaller. I mean these T2 twinks are not gods. Most of them are MC and Masters. There is not even that big of a difference between MC/Legendary/Fabled. In fact, most of the MC is better than the Leg and Fabled gear on the broker... Either give new players a way to ease into PvP (even more so than what is already available) or allow them access to the same mechanics the other players are using to twink there characters. So, either invest the time in gearing up or level past them.

2. Much of the lower tiers content is missed due to leveling too fast - Slow down the pace at which a player levels or focus all efforts on making new content for level 70 and above. Why have 8 T2 zones if all you need is 1 to get to T3. I realize that each of these zones cater to specific races and alignments, but why must you choose just 1 or 2? Being that AAs are also directly related to quests and nameds in these different zones in many cases, its almost mandantory to run through these zones to maximize AAs... If level locking and debt is done away with, then slow down the pace of the game in another way or give those that prefer to see as much of the game's content as possible a way to slow it down themselves.

3. Groups ganking Solo/Duo players are turning people away - Twinked or not, a group will almost always destroy a solo or duo players. Truely this is the biggest problem imo. Groups should not be able to engage a solo player unless attacked by the solo player first. The only other way I can think of to help with this issue is to some how auto group people before they go out. Seeing how that idea will never work, let's just stick to the first one...

4. Fights are often way too short for some classes to be truly viable - I think the Devs are on the right track here by toning down the extreme damage arts on all classes. Does anyone really think that 1 or 2 shotting someone is an accomplishment? I like what I hav seen as far as these changes so I have little to add here...

5. The best gear in the game (PvP gear) requires lots of faction and encourages ganking - Either reduce the amount of faction needed to obtain this gear or start rewarding faction based on the dificulty of the kill. Titled players should reward faction equal to their title. Green cons should reward little to zero faction.

Make damage and defense based directly on player actions and less about the numbers.

2. DudeMan wrote:
Solutions:
1. New Players are turned off because twinks gank them unmercifully - Log into a blue server and create your character there. The ganking doesn't end after T2, it gets exponentially worse. If you don't like getting rolled by some nub who twinked out his 14 in mastercrafted gear with a few masters, you are really going to hate getting rolled by a raid force of completely fabled out toons in tier 7 a lot worse. Do yourself a favor and roll on a non-pvp server. Hit that "delete" button, type your characters name in, hit enter. DO IT NOW. There is no shame in admitting you don't belong on a PVP server, lots of people play blue servers. You still have /duel.

2. Much of the lower tiers content is missed due to leveling too fast - Easy, make it harder to level. I don't mean quite as hard as it is to go from 50-70, but slow it down a pinch. The way it is today, you come off newbie island thinking you are an absolute god in your crap gear. It's not until you meet the twinked out 14's that you learn the harsh reality of what you really can (and can not) do. See #1.

3. Groups ganking Solo/Duo players are turning people away - Group up or be prepared to die. I don't know about you, but I picked a PVP server because playing on my blue server was boring, and I wanted that heightened sense of danger in the world missing from eq2. Being out alone is, for better or worse, really scary in EQ2. If you want easy mode, it's available to you here - go death-port to instances, etc., but it's not the default setting. If this is really what you want, see #1.

4. Fights are often way too short for some classes to be truly viable - Roll a different class if yours really isn't viable (99.9% of the time because you just plain out suck at playing it), or, find a group that needs your particular classes abilities. Everyone, no matter how [Removed for Content] they may be in solo PVP, brings a lot to a group in pvp. Luckily, even players who suck can shine in a group setting - or at least suck a lot less. Or, you can post whine after whine up here on the forums and, if you get enough like minded whiners to follow in your newbile footsteps, you can push SOE to change the game to compensate for your shortcomings, evidently.

5. The best gear in the game (PvP gear) requires lots of faction and encourages ganking - True. But the solution to this is really expressed in a synergy of the ideas above. Or, you can whine a lot and have it made easier for you - that seems to work well here too. (BTW, pvp gear is nice, but it's far from the best gear in the game, FYI).
*** NOTICE THAT SOE DOES NOT HAVE TO CHANGE A THING TO FIX EVERY ONE OF THESE PROBLEMS FOR YOU? YOU CAN SOLVE THEM ALL YOURSELF, QUITE EASILY. THAT IS ALL I WANTED TO SAY. THANKS.
