<p>Last night, we cleared EoU and Garanel dropped a coercer/illusionist chestpiece. We didn't have a chanter in group, so I logged out and logged my chanter in to loot the item, as I had done in many other zones before. When I finally made it to the ornate chest, I clicked it, and a message in bold letters saying "A stranger has entered my domain, you are not welcome here!" popped up, and the chest poofed before I could click the "loot" button...</p><p> Is this something specifically designed for EoU so that only the members of the party who killed Garanel can get the loot? It really is sad that they would program it like that, where people who can't use the item will be forced to loot and simply sell it as vendor trash, while my alts could very well put the pieces to good use!</p><p> Or is this a bug, and perhaps I should contact a GM to have the issue resolved?</p>

<p>My monk looted the brawler Gi in there a few days ago, after me camping my then present illusionist out, so there is no restrictions on it. However, I looted it from the entrance of the zone, wich means it could be somethin down there, or that time ran out, as its quite a bit to run down.</p>

ooooooo   Brawler Gi?  Niceness..got some stats on that thing? I didnt know there was a new Gi that drops in there....I'm going over to the monk "got gi" thread and see if its there.  Not sure on the loot thing..would seem weird that they would change it up for this zone only..maybe the timer just ran out.  What is the timer on an Ornate chest vs a Master chest?

<p>How long did it take you to get to the loot?  I had a friend take my spot in the group when Paladin gear dropped and she got the loot just fine.  </p>

<p>I had to be CotH'd down to where we killed Garanel, since the initial (12-minutes isn't it?) group restriction timer had elapsed, so the chest was in that "Free for all" state... but I was able to see the chest, cllick it, and the window with the coercer breastpiece popped up on my screen.</p><p>It just wouldn't let me click "loot"! Garanel yelled at me, and the chest poofed. I weeped. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> I guess if I don't make it to Unrest before the initial group restriction timer is up, so a fellow group member who helped kill the mob click on the chest and declines it, I'm seen as an 'unwanted guest'? </p><p>I wonder if that happens in all zones... Come to think of it, this was the first time I tried to loot a chest in an intance that was about to 'decay', after the initial lockout.</p>

Once looting restrictions are up there is a very short timer before the box despawns, about 2-3 min if I remember right.  You probably just were very unlucky and it despawned right as you clicked it.  I know I have seen people go into the zone and get loot out of boxes.  I also know that when you first zone in a few seconds later you automaticly get the trespasser message.

my guess is the box poofed and the window to loot lagged and thats why it wouldn't let you loot. I doubt they added anything particular to the zone but that message you got suggests otherwise hmmm....

Just so you know for future reference, if you are going to switch out characters if a chest piece drops, you don't need to actually RUN down there and click on the chest. If you set loot to leader when you kill him, you can invite to group, zone in and your leader can assign the armor to you. This of course is only if your group is fairly solid one and the person you chose to be leader is someone who knows what they are doing when assigning items. Those ornate chests don't last that long and with the speed debuff, getting down there is going to take time.
