A popup comes up named as "Network Error" and it says:

The Station LaunchPad is unable to connect to the network at this time please try again in a few minutes.

Now i tried again in about 30minutes and THE SAME THING CAME UP! I tried restarting my computer.. everything I could think of. Can ANYONE please explain how to fix this problem?

~Thanks

There is a post titles "Patcher hangs" that details this problem

This is going to be very hard to diagnose from here with the limited information you give. Please note if you are running antivirus, software firewalls, hardware firewalls, can you ping your server? This is some good information to start with. Also, are any other internet applications not working, what version of windows are you running. did you good that error and find out if anyone else is having that problem. sometimes they have quick fixes that way that are more helpful than waiting for a forum post. More info is best when trying to do technical things over the forums. Obviously you are accessing the forums from that computer so internet connectivity isn't a major issue. Hope this helps.

Some things i would try first are deleting no-essential folders and content in the eq2 directory. This includes the login-cache folder, the cache folder, all ini files (cept the ones for your ui layout). Reload the patcher and see if that helps. You can also delete the patcher app (program files/sony/station) and redownload it. Also, please try to ping or tracert to your server. This can be done by bringing up a command prompt and typing: ping servername.everquest2.com such as ping unrest.everquest2.com instead of ping you can type tracert for more detailed information. See if any of this helps and post back.

If your firewall is software based such as Symantec or Windows and the patcher has changed due to a upgrade to the exe it will have to be removed and authorized to your software firewall - most software firewalls utilize checksum based restrictions on access to the internet, if the executable is updated it no longer passes the checksum validation and will be blocked. Also in the case of 2k and above turning off the firewall does not really disable it completely, the firewalls on these systesm are service based and a lot of the modules are loaded at boot, when you disable the firewall it can leave bits and pieces of the service dll's running that will cause problems

Secondly on the patcher, it utilizes the api calls from internet explorer, if internet explorer is not your default browser you need to verify that it is not set to work offline, this is on a drop done menu from the File section on the toolbar, it also requres that it be up to date.

Finally you really do not detail out your internet connection - can you be a little more specific on this please, broadband, campus network, etc

Considering there's basically a riot going on on the Vanguard, SWG and european EQ2 forums about the patcher not being able to connect, I'd await an answer to the previously mentioned post before troubleshooting too much.

Sounds like a general network issue. Some places are rather snowed in right now, wonder if they have servers having trouble there, or many more people with time off surfing the net...
