Hehe I had to point it out, I know other people have before. Only a tinytinytiny fraction of the people posting here actually play on the test server! They need a new forum for 'in-testing comments by people who aren't playing on test' hehe.

Anyhow I have another motive for starting a new thread. I'm thinking about joining the elite minority of test server players with an alt, once my main hits 50. But it's taken forever for me to finally get high level and I'm weary of grinding. So my question is, is it worth it? I heard there's no accelerated exp, nor loot, nor any other kind of special feature for testers(aside from maybe having their bug reports read). How have your experiences on the test server been? What's it actually like? Should I bother?

Message Edited by KUPOPO on 03-18-2005 06:05 AM

Well, us testers have our own little secret club that only real testers know about.

I only play on Test. I do not play on live. I enjoy testing, and report problems and bugs I find mostly via the in-game bug report system. I post things I see that appear to me to need adjusting or things that have to do with the testing enviorment, mostly in suggestion form; here. Test can be a harsh enviorment to play in, as there isn't much of an economy, but it is rewarding to know you are making the game better...one bug report / suggestion at a time. It's definately not for everyone.

Blacksabath (Necromancer) -Test

Message Edited by LadyEternity on 03-18-2005 06:37 AM

I'm a tester! I play a Troll Fury (Freeport) and a Barbarian Warlock (Qeynos).

Part time tester....

I have characters on mistmoore and test. The probkem with test is you can't test a lot of things especially those that effect the economy .. so you need a live environment to test that in. Then again, sometimes things bypass test and go straight to the main servers. hmm .. I think we just have two different kinds of test...

<------ Full time tester. Like others have said I play to help make the game better. The upside is there is less lag, less finding people camping spots and for the most part folks are good people. An example is that I have seen often people doing ooc's offering up spell books for free if you can use and even saw a case of someone running from NQ gate to Stormhold entrance just to deliver a book to one of the players in our group. The down side is there are times when finding a group can be hard and the server going down with anywhere from none to 15 min notice.

I will however, say that you should plan ahead when rolling up a character on Test. Do you have a duo buddy, a group of friends to play with, or will you be stuck soloing a good portion of the time? Not saying that grouping doesn't exist on Test, but until you make friends and such, it isn't easy to get a group (even afterwards it isn't that easy really)... so don't roll up a group dependant class and get disgruntled that there is no one available to group with most times you get on... you are forwarned.

Message Edited by Kwoung on 03-19-2005 11:16 AM

I'm a full time tester from the Mistmoore server. Cliched but true sadly. We catch everything that you guys on test already complained about but that got patched to live anyway
