<DIV>I was wondering what I should be. I am a 17 sorcerer and I see tones of Wizards and very few Warlocks and this scares me a little. I dont get to play all the time but want to be happy with my choice when I am playing. Any help or sugestions would be great. Thanks.</DIV>

Warlock and Wiz are very similar in what matters most: you nuke a lot, you die easily, and your game play involves finding the limits of aggro for each situation.Wizards at one point purportedly had more DPS than warlocks. Now the pendulum may have swung the other way. Don't make your decision based upon today's balance. Look at the spells of each sub-class and pick what feels right to you.

Things will always changes in the classes. Choose the one that you feel most confortable with. I took wizard because, to me, it simply feels "wrong" doing poison damage. dont base your choice on dps.  for a long time, wizards were doing more dps.  after the last big patch, warlocks are now doing more damage.  who knows what the next big patch will bring.  it could swing back to the wizard side.  pick a class that will better suit your playing style.

<DIV>Well its really hard to say but warlocks spells looks draw a lot less agro...</DIV> <DIV>Frankly my lovely twinki warlock only lvl 25 but then I group with wizard of same lvl I can run HO and heavy nuke as soon as mob down to 95-90% of health and never draw any agro hitting around 400-450 a pop with DarkDistortion and around 200 with suffocating beath and ice spike in between. Wizzi have to wait ill mob down to 40-50% before he can start chain-nuke</DIV> <DIV>Other not so trivial advantage of warlock over wizard in my eyes - ability to gain power from nukage </DIV>

<DIV>Hey, im a wizard and this is the first time im even visiting the warlock forums.   I am only here out of curiousity.</DIV> <DIV> <BR>I read the wiz forum almost daily and I think its funny as hell now that I have read warlox stuff too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You guys have a couple of warlocks on our forums under the wiz/war thread saying how warlocks are not doing more damage, that warlocks are weak in this, weak in that, we cant do this......we cant afford a nerf, instead wizards are still overpowered etc...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Basicaly playing down the warlock class, but there here in warlock realm, its all about how much more dmg the warlocks do and how great they are.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Me personally, I dont care, the point were at in the game now is jut the tip of the iceberg and Ill keep playing my wizard till kingdom come and I love warlocks too...the dmg differential doesnt matter to me at all.</DIV> <DIV><BR>The point of my post.......maybe talk to your two warlocks who flood the wizard boards....both of them are making the warlock class look bad to the wizards in there starting childish arguements with guys there.  Its really annoying when Im reading a thread or posting in one to get some information and then the thread turns into an arguement between two guys.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bottom line on the damage part.........dmg calculators dont lie.   Warlox pretty much own wizards in dps at every level post 37, before that I am not sure as I was well past that when the patch came out.   Numbers dont lie...........but who cares! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vladek </DIV> <DIV>49 Wizard</DIV> <DIV>Sinister Circle</DIV> <DIV>Najena</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"ill invite a warlox into my sandbox any day to play with my toys...lets all be friends  =)</DIV>

I always heard that Wizards had bigger nukes and that Warlocks had better group buffs. Dunno if it's true and it may already have been changed with all the patching going on. Fact is, in the long run it does not matter if you go Warlock or Wizard, it'll be equal. Wizards do not outclass Warlocks and Warlocks do not outclass Wizards. Subclass characters may have different abilities, but all characters (within the same subclass) are EQUAL. You will not die or be unable to finish a quest easier if you choose to go Wizard or Warlock. You simply choose if you want spells with poison & disease or with fire & ice, that's it really. PS: if you are in a fixed group and it doesn't matter to you what subclass you gonna take, I suggest you look if you have a Wizard or Warlock already in your group. It's better to have a Warlock AND Wizard in your group then 2 the same characters <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I play both <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span> There's enough posts on the Warlock and Wizard forums about who does more damage etc so I'll just lay it out as I have experienced it: SOLOing: Pretty much tied. I find it easy to solo with my wizzie and warlock. (This pertains to solo mobs I rarely if ever go for "heroic" ^ or ^^ mobs) GROUPing: Again there's not that much in it. Whilst I would definately say the warlock (currently) leads I would not say the wizard is far behind. A lot of it comes down to your personal play style as well as who if any you group with. However in order to answer your question I'd say go for warlock. Reason being there are rare occasions when I am soloing with my wizard and think that would have been so much easier for my warlock. <div></div>
