I'm a raiding wizard, not terribly hardcore, but I'd like to maximise my AAs for raid dps. I'm currently just about to reach the lvl 50 AA cap, and was initially planning on respec'ing to AGI/WIS, probably taking WIS 4/4/4/8/1 and AGI 4/5/4/8/0.I quite like passive buffs, so the +8% dps and +14% (or whatever it is) cast speed suits me fine. I am sort of fond of my current 30% which has given me a nice highest damage of 28.5k. But now I'm really looking for overall better dps.My thought was though, that the extra advantage of STR/AGI is that you free up the second hand, and can thus have another item. That should potentially give another +30 or so INT plus whatever else in resists and suchlike.Currently that's not too big an issue because of the cap, but when they are raised with EoF, might not this put the STR/AGI line at a slight advantage?I think I will do the AGI/WIS first and give it a try, but certainly look at STR/AGI when EoF comes out.Let me know what you think!Kind regards,Lord Ocellatusfrom The Calanor on Lucan D'Lere

Hmmm I like the way you think. I love hearing about people's play styles with their AA. I play pvp and have gone down AGI/STA. However for raiding, if it's dps you want, I think you may actually want to take your points out of AGI. Although the faster casting is nice, I think if you went down STR/WIS you would do insane dps. Make macros of your two-handed staff and one-handed staff so you can switch out very easily. Throw up the first wisdom ability (sorry i can't remember the name of it, but increases spell damage by 16% at first rank), and then quickly switch to your two-hander and throw up catalyst. Critical hit + % higher than normal may equal quite a powerful fusion or nova. However I'm not positive you can do that. I hear wizards hitting for things like 28k and my highest is only 13k with 500 INT and 454 disruption. But Once you throw up the % increase of your spell, if you switch weapons it may cancel the ability. Unless you're a battle mage, I would suggest not going down AGI or STA if it's raiding you're looking forward to the most. And dont' worry too much about the extra intelligence you might get with the secondary slot. as long as you're in a fury or illusionist's group, your int should be fine. as for resists, who needs 'em! we die anyways

And we all know, please go INT line 100% if you hate concussive =P

Message Edited by Jayingsoo on 10-23-2006 02:43 AM
