I know it is way too late in the game to even suggest this but here goes:

You need to balance all classes around group content. It is the soul of Everquest 2. It is what brings your NEW PLAYERS in and keeps them coming back. There is no trust in this [so-called] MMO any more, no one will group with others because it simply isnt fun to wipe and/or have impossible aggro issues.

You can't give some Tanks no real means to hold hate in a poor group setup. Any tank should be able to keep aggro in any group setup. Even if he is a little undergeared.* It's called FUN. I'll get all the the stress I can handle during raid time.

You can't give Brigands an ability that WILL make heroic tanks /quit out of the game. Putting a +2 or +5 hate positional on our by-far highest combat art will cause this.

Rangers also bring very very little to a group and are unwanted. PUG rangers are usually aggro nightmares.

Beastlord DPS is pretty much unmanageable for anyone but a Paladin and some Guardians.

Conjuror Elemental Blast is the same.

Spread the love with power regen. It's unreal that one of the most important factors in the game is handled primarily by two classes of the 24. You've made them no fun to play but close to necessary to have. This isn't fun for anyone.

All tanks should be able to carry their own weight from an aggro standpoint instead of relying on other classes to do it for them. All transfers/buffs should be done away with (like they tried before). Let tanks do their own thing, and even make it easier on them aggro-wise. Group content is TERRIBLE atm because it seems like tanks are horrible players, but in reality they are usually placed in a position to fail from the outset.

I know these kind of changes arent going in this GU, but you have to try to make this game enjoyable again. Raiding will take care of itself with these changes.

*I don't mean 150 AA and SF gear. But a Ry'Gorr geared tank with adornments and 300 AA should be able to handle a HM geared DPS class.

On a similar note:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=516427

Itemization and general player power issues are the reason I don't like group content anymore, not class balance. In fact, the strength of this game compared to more modern MMOs is the relatively complex mechanics and classes (imo), which you would apparently like to see simplified.

I used to like the class mechanics and how they fit together. Until DoV came.

Aggro is a nightmare. And you can talk condescendingly about "simplification" but you can't say the "LF Bard and Enchanter" spam for nearly every group is healthy for the game, and that has been around forever. DPS classes are unbalanced and for PUGs people shy away from BLs, Brigs and Rangers. Conjurors too. Even Wizards and Warlock, because ya never know. Unless you have a paladin.

Better hate mechanics (preferably ALL Tanks controlling hate themselves; could also give all scouts some form of transfer/hate gain buff if you'd rather) and more power regeneration from multiple classes would help bring the fun back to the heart of this game.

For someone new to the game, your "fun" class mechanics + lower population is not going to win anyone over.

And people talk about population being low---I'm on Freeport, with actually a TON of players, but it seems dead. No one wants to run PUGs for these zones. Poor itemization has helped dissuade people from grouping when 90% current tier zones are NOT worth the headache or time spent.

The idea of needing better gear than what drops in the zone is the absolute worst idea ever created.

I feel this has stemmed from mini-raid instances DoV was built around. Mini-raids isolated many classes, and tagged them as undesirable. While a few get a chance to play them, most avoid the classes.

It seems DoV was a reset to get everyone on the same playing field. At first it wasnt so bad, but some poor feedback from many (do I dare say raiders?) got RW gear nerfed (crit mit targeted)which threw a monkey wrench in progression. At this point it didnt matter to raiders because thay have progressed beyond this point with orignal RW gear. I am not here to pick on raiders and raiding is a core system in this game that I dont want removed just distributed correctly. That being said, with the feedback and SOE mistakes things starting to decline rapidly. So as it sits we have about 2/3rd of our classes obsolete or unwanted. As we all know they came back and nerfed crit mit in most zones and make Rygor more accessible but to little to late, yes?

I am going to link some articles on what i discussed, I hope soe dont restrict them

http://eq2wire.com/2011/10/04/comme...eal-roadblocks/

http://eq2wire.com/2011/09/05/getti...in-progression/

http://eq2wire.com/2011/04/07/devil...us-progression/
