The price for next expansion is way to high for what we get. Standard digital version 39.99$ for that price im expecting little more then what CoE have to offer.

If you want to level to 95 and remain viable, you pay it.

Malvin 10-31-2012 12:56 PM

Don't forget the other 40 you have to thrown down if you didn't get AoD. 80 bucks just to come back to the game, lol

Rainmare 10-31-2012 01:45 PM

I'm curious as to what you want for 40 bucks.

we're getting several instances/raids/at least 1 contested dungeon..maybe 2 depending on what Harrow's End turns out to be like. and 2 pretty darn big overlands imo.

new prestiges and 3 new levels.

so what would you add on to make it worth the money to you?

Helmarf 10-31-2012 05:25 PM

SS was free and for that we got 1 overland zone, 4 heroic zones, 1 contested zone, 2 raid zones, 2 levels. So im not so sure about the math here . But ofc i will pay the price but i know a couple of friends who cant afford it, living in contrys where 40 - 60$ have a huge impact on their economy.

Solution - Buy the expansion with Krono?

Deago 10-31-2012 06:09 PM

Too too too tooooooo expensive.

Eh forty bucks is not very high for this because even with the economy the way it is you have to stop and think what will forty dollars really get you anyway? A dinner? A night out at the movies? Just saying these things are one shots and with the expansion you get (hopefully) days of entertainment.

This is not a paid ad for SOE. lol

Rendoir 11-01-2012 05:44 AM

It's not necessarily too much, but in the context of people feeling the pinch, EQ2s ever aging (read more commitments, and expense with families, insurances, recession oan payments etc) population it could be seen as a non-budgetable expense.

An easy fix for this would be cutting the price to $35.98 and then making it available for 2 Kronos.

This would introduce some flexibility to players, and I am sure would increase the expac sales, and therefore the population after November.

LordPazuzu 11-01-2012 06:24 AM

Standard content for the standard price. What's the issue here?

Helmarf 11-01-2012 06:48 AM

Standard 20$ collectors 30$ would be much more inline for what we get, for the current prices we want much more content!

A few reasons - bad economy all around the world, close to xmas, returning players will have a hard time getting in to groups, players that thinking of comming back would hesitate paying 39.99$ + 1 month subs.

Tbh Krono is the option here.

yohann koldheart 11-01-2012 08:08 AM

if your one of those people that think the price is too much, then dont buy it its that easy.

the price is inline with their past expansions .

we are getting a good bit of content for the price, so its totaly worth it.

EQ2 is a mixed pve/pvp that makes a difference in expansion costs, i bet if soe made enough money from subs to make expansions they would.

Jolemai 11-01-2012 10:26 AM

Helmarf, what would you spend 40$ on that you will spend the same amount of time (and possibly enjoyment) on that you would/will on CoE?

Finora 11-01-2012 01:25 PM

Same complaining happens every single time they release an expansion without fail.

It comes down to this: If you think it is worth it, buy it. If you don't think it is? then simply do not buy it. The end.

If Christmas & the economy is hitting you hard enough that buying the expansion for the normal expansion price is going to cause problems...perhaps you should be thinking about more important things than expansions for a computer game?

That sounds harsh but these threads always come across like people wanting something for nothing.

Its an expansion.Expansions are always $40 when they first come out./shrug

Now what is a VALID complaint is the cost of the Collectors Edition with the majority of the "collector" bonuses just being SC trash. That is shady IMO

While I agree that it seems like a lot, haven't they all been around that price, give or take a few bucks? It is all relative. As some pointed out, it cost that much or more to go out to dinner and when it's over it's over, you have nothing. What's less than two hours of work pay that can be used indefinitely in the big picture? You cannot get much for that anymore.

Helmarf 11-01-2012 03:17 PM

Im gonna buy the expansion no matter what the end price will be, but i do have some friends that will not be able to. For 40$ you can have 10 times more back depending on what country in the world you live in as not "everyone live in US"

The thing is here when you compare Dov vs Coe you have to pay the same price for half the content given us, hence why i think the price is to high. And being able to buy it with Krono in game would defently help alot of players out there in these dark times.

I do think they should make it possible to buy Coe with krono, 2 krono for standard and 3 krono for collectors would be a fair price. As krono is allready payed for in game by someone Soe allready got the "real money" for it and it want make a different for them but ones again will make a huge different for a continues large growing player base.
