<p>Love, love, love that this is going to happen! <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" />  Thank you so much!</p><p>Having been laid off recently, dropping from Gold to Silver is the only way I can still get my EQ2 fix until I can afford the subscription again.  This will at least unlock 3 of what's left of my characters -- I had to delete the other 3 today (Dec. 8th) just to get an open slot to recreate something I <em>can</em> play since <em>all</em> of my characters were locked because of race/class combinations. </p><p>If there's some way we can be granted a choice as to which of our several characters to set as the four available to play, then it may be worth it for me to pester CS about restoring the 3 I just deleted, since they were created several months ago and would have qualified to be grandfathered in. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" /></p>

<p>I have, in the past, been consistently unimpressed with many of the decisions made by SOE regarding customers and things like this.</p><p>This time, I've got to hand it to you.  This was well done, and appreciated.</p><p>Of course from a business standpoint, its a good idea even if you lose out on a few unlocks.  Trying to get word out and bring people in, you need the people here to be positive about it.  And people coming back for this great new 'free' game dont want to log in and see a long list of 'Locked' characters.</p><p>It's a very good choice, and well done, I'm impressed.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Thanks for this I will actually log on again and see how much unlocking my gear and whatnot is going to cost me before I decide whether to stay or not.  I applaud this move.  It's hard these days to justify throwing money at something you've already paid for several times over in expansions etc, huzzah!</p>
