<P>To visualize this better (hopefully)</P> <P>New thread entitled: "Index to Epic Encounters"</P> <P>That link points to post just like this one that looks like the following:</P> <P>-- Begin --</P> <P>Epic x 2</P> <P>name 1<BR>name 2<BR>name 3</P> <P>Epic x 3</P> <P>name 1<BR>name 2<BR>name 3</P> <P>Epic x 4</P> <P>name 1<BR>name 2<BR>name 3 (maybe Venekor as an example)<BR>     link 1<BR>     link 2<BR>     link 3 (where each link under Venekor is actually a URL to a site or thread that contains useful information about Venekor.<BR></P> <P>-- End --</P> <DIV>I see no problem at all with you posting great detail about a particular mob in the Paladin forum but putting it all in that thread might make it TOO busy, this type of setup could serve as an INDEX to mob information for fellow pallys.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another option would be to create three fast threads to be stickied based on volumes of epic mobs to be added over the years, so thread one is Index to Epic x 2, thread two is Index to Epic x 3, and the final thread is Index to Epic x 4.  Of course we'd have to get all three board stickied, but with if we had 20 or more links all on just one mob Venekor, I could see a single thread growing beyond usefulness.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>

<DIV>This guy is attempting something similar, perhaps you could add to his site.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.eq2raiders.com/" target=_blank>http://www.eq2raiders.com/</A></DIV>

<DIV>just now read this for the first time, lots of important information that im glad i know now. I checked out the link above and now I've got a question.....which is going to sound really bad on my part. What exactly does a "Contested Mob" mean? I'm guessing it means something like it can pop anytime and it's basically a race for anyone around to see who can kill it first.....can someone clarify this?</DIV>

Correct.  And Most of them grant guild exp and better loot than instance zones.  Since the last patch, in many cases they are more difficult as well.

<P>I have another question for those mighty prismatic wielders <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>After you defeat the dragon and head off to Lord Naggy, first time visitors have to complete the 6 party max instanced zone with the fire lord (an epic x 2 which isn't that bad).  We now have nearly 20ish guildies that are either 50/50 on collecting runes or heading to the do the instanced zone to speak to Naggy.</P> <P>The problem is that players that have already been through the instanced zone and have spoken with Naggy may NO LONGER do the instanced zone to help other guildies.  Basically, you need a new group of 6 each time you want more guildies to advance the quest.  Please tell me its an 8 day lock out timer or something similar and eventually you can repeat the instanced zone to help other guildies.</P> <P>If you recall my guild's first trip through included an uncanny number of tank classes.  Now that we have a lot more ready to progress we are "light" on 50 tanks to have a good 6 player group for the instanced zone on the way to Naggy.  If you are perma-locked out, it's going to suck for guilds that don't have a lot of spare balance between dps, healing and tanking or guilds that have one or two slow levelers that eventually are ready but are unable to be helped by the guild if most have already completed.</P> <P>Once again I'm hoping we are running into a lockout timer here, but can someone confirm please?</P> <P>If in fact you are locked out permanently when you complete the instanced portion of the quest on the way to Naggy, other guilds should plan accordingly and save a good balance of dps, healing and tanking prior to advancing the quest past killing the dragon and speaking to the Sage or you could end up with a bunch of dps, no tanks and no healers or some other less successful combination that might struggle a lot to advance.</P> <P>Incidentally, we have repeated the dragon 4 times now helping a new mix of guildies each time and we've had GREAT success after a few tips you guys provided.  It's amazing how a good game plan/strategy makes it very easy to do--thanks again to those that offered help.</P> <P>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</P>

you are only locked out till you collect the runes and go back, so if you get your tanks to that spot, then they'll be able to zone in again.  If you zone in and you have already done the Oratorium fight, you get an empty zone.  So ... what happens if you have a mixed group and someone who has collected the runes zones in ... hmmm ... food for thought.  <span>:smileywink:</span> <div></div>

<DIV>Perhaps the key is to get the rune collector's completed on the quest so they can zone in a second time, BUT have a party member that hasn't entered the zone for the first time attempt to drag the completed rune adventurer into epic x 2 zone to assist the new visitors?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Did that make you as dizzy as me?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>

nope ... think about what you might do to SKIP the long boring fight, since there is no quest update for it anways ... <div></div>

Of course, upon entering the Oratorium, it was an empty zone, as I had already killed the door guards before.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The question: Is the "empty Oratorium" caused by killing the raid mob inside it, or by progressing past the "Hail Lord Nagafen" portion of the Dragon language quest? In other words, if someone has somehow hailed Nagafen without killing the Oratorium raid mob, are they then able to zone into an empty instance of the Oratorium?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally, I found the Oratorium fight to be rather fun, and it actually dropped loot, so I'm assuming there's a Master chance there as well. I intend on doing it "the right way" just so my up-and-coming guildies get the "full experience."</DIV>

<div></div>most zoning is controlled by what quests you have open/completed rather than based on what mobs you kill, especially since there is no quest update on Thyr, so I doubt they can tell if you've killed him.  I would bet if you killed Thyr and then did not talk to Naggy you'd still be on the same step and have to do it again.  I could be wrong though, never tried it personally. Personally, I found the fight annoyingly long, since once Thyr oop's, it's a joke.  And having a guildie sit in the penalty box for 20-30 min is not fun imho.  You're right, it does drop loot.  I think there are just better places to get it. <div></div><p>Message Edited by djhbeek on <span class=date_text>06-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:19 AM</span>
