<DIV>First off, I'm not a crafter so I have no idea what a petrified eye is or does.  Second, I've noticed some paladins with these in their activatable slots?  What so they do?</DIV>

petrified eyes allow you to become a different race. these can be aquired by completing the bone collection quest of a particular race or just buying off the broker (7-20 gold each). The effect lasts 6 hours and requires a bone of that race every time you want to recast.

<DIV>Yeah, but remember... when paladins cast an Illusion, which is what the eye does.. makes you into the name of it.. Petrified Erudite Eye, I have.. makes me into a Eridute wearing Plate Armor... kinda funny..   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But, when under an Illusion, we get spammed with... "You cannot do that in this form."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Same with Swimming... "You cannot do that, the water is too deep!"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Same with sitting... "You canot do that while sitting!"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, I swim as little as possible, never sit, and my petrified erudite eye sits unused in my bank.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Its one of those bugs thats been around since launch...  I guess the "Bug God" hasnt deemed worthy of fixing... *sigh*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes, Ive /bugged it... alot..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe we ought to all /bug it at the same time... spam them a bit...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Think they would get as sick of seeing the bug report as I am of seeing "you cannot do that...." over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over......</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> -Law</DIV>

so, it would use an erudite bone every time you use that spell?Does it matter what kind of erudite bone you use? shattered? cracked? weathered?...

<DIV>This is a bit off topic from the original post, but the bug you guys are talking about it related to the horse. Every paladin with a horse gets those messages.</DIV>

<DIV>Yes any bone will do.  You cannot Zone with the Illusion or you will need to recast.  It offers NO other benefit other than a change in appearance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I personally have the Gnome.  Being a Barbarian I use it as a self shrink when I am in tight places.  My Gnome Illusionist has a Troll, he uses it so he can see adds etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Somewhat useful.</DIV>

I have noticed that if I am in a zone where I haven't used my horse I won't get the error message from the illusion.I like to use the Guise of the Deceiver (haha Dark Elf Illision for a Dark Elf) because any other illusions cast on you after that won't change what you look like. I group with a conjurer that likes to cast his group air illusion spell and it really pisses me off! With an illusion already on it won't do anything to you, whether cast from a pertrified eye or the guise of the deceiver. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I have just tried to use the search function and youre absolutely right, it never works properly <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, it wasnt meant to sound like me giving you a lecture, it was simply to tell you that there is so much good info to be found in this forum (if the search function would just male it available)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As to the spamming of the chat window i also am getting pretty tired of SOE not fixing it, i am currently only using eye´s or guise of the deceiver in zones where it isnt possible to summon the horse, in those zones the spamming wont happen.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Too bad the changing doesn't give a benefit.I mean, it would be cool if you could change into a troll or gnoll and infiltrate (like I some times do with invisibility <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)

I would be happy if they split the status messages so you could get the harvesting / status and play login/off details in separte filters... that way you can filter out the spam.

You mean other than the 12g (well 7g really since you have to pay 5g for part of the quest) and 40k+ status you also get from completing the quest?

Can you make 12g and 40k status faster from doing writs?I thought it was a very easy heritage quest and there is so many other quests to rip out in Nektropos while you are waiting for Billy to pop in the chapel or waiting for the Swine King to pop.It took us maybe 3 hours max, and it that time I finished at least 10 quests, including getting the Guise.

<blockquote><hr>boli wrote:I would be happy if they split the status messages so you could get the harvesting / status and play login/off details in separte filters... that way you can filter out the spam.<hr></blockquote>You can. Just make multiple chat windows, then right click and select "chat options". Turn on and off as desired. For example, I have all my combat nonsense in one chat window, and tells, group chat, etc. in another. It makes it nice. There is one option in the list of many, many kinds of chat that you can turn off to prevent the spams, but it also prevents you from seeing certain status messages and doesn't tell you what you pick up from the question marks. You'll gather from one of them, get the bone or whatever, but it won't tell you that you happened to get a "shattered erudite bone" or whatever.
