View Full Version : Level 10-19 Adept III decision - Which?

Coral is rare, so when you get it to make a 10-19 adept III, which is the best ability to upgrade to prepare for the longest amount of utility? I can't find any clear info on the upgrade progression of our abilities so it's hard to determine which abilities last the longest before getting a replacement that makes it useless. I'm already level 28, so maybe just selling the coral or getting an adept3 for an alt is an option...but I'd rather use it for an ability that I still have use for at high levels. 10 - Blessed Weapon -- I think Glorious Weapon (24.6) is supposed to replace this but currently you can run them both at the same time...I'm thinking this is something that might be nerfed in the future?11 - Righteous Blow -- I was thinking this would be linked with Oath Strike but it isn't, maybe future nerf?12 - Demonstration of Faith -- Faithful Zeal (26.6)13 - Righteous Anger -- Omen of Battle (27.6)14 - Cry of Conviction -- replaced by Divine Wrath (which is useless, costs too much and was never used once) and possibly by Unyielding Conviction (28.6) but they aren't timer linked I don't think.15.6 - Faithful Swing -- Don't see any obvious replacements, but not a very useful ability due to it's weakness...it's nearly useless at level 18 already.17 - Offering of Armament -- I've never calculated how useful this one is, i keep it on main tank if I'm secondary but don't see how much a difference it makes. Don't see any obvious replacements for it.17.6 - Inflame -- replaced by Noble Tone (31)? This is a good one, but I already have Master I through a freak accident with a broker (I'm guessing).19 - Vigor of Trust -- Same thing as Offering of Armament. Don't know what might replace it if any, but also don't see that it's particularly useful.19.6 - Charge -- Anyone know what might replace this? Maybe this is the best choice.Feedback would be greatly appreciated. I hope this start helps future Paladins.<p>Message Edited by Ayce on <span class=date_text>01-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:57 PM</span>

Demonstration of Faith is probably what I'd get.

Vigor of Trust is a buff that adds Strength and Stamina, if I remember right (I'm 36 now, so it's been a while). You can use it on yourself and on fellow players in your group. Regardless though, I'd go with what I said in the previous post. Demonstration of Faith is a great skill when you're getting low on health, and the healer just healed and you want to give them just a tad more time to get a heal off on you.

<DIV>You don't think vigor of trust is helpful?  No offense but are you crazy?  I have adept 1 and at level 29 it adds 15 to strength and 15 to stamina.  At adept 3, it probably adds another 2 or 3 to each one.  Unless you really need the money, I'd probably adept 3 vigor of trust at level 28.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nice freak accident for master 1 inflame.  I picked up a palladium cluster for 2 1/2 gp today on fence.  I love catching those great buys!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tegra, 29 paladin, Lavastorm</DIV>

By "same thing" i meant the way it's used. It's simply a 3 min buff you keep recasting on the main tank during every battle, even if the benefit goes unnoticed in general.I don't run log parsers and I don't sit down and do the math on the differences statistics make. What is the quantifiable benefit of +15 stam/str in a battle? A few extra hp and a couple extra points of dmg? Maybe it's more than I think. But without a direct comparison of the benefits vs other more obvious abilities it's hard to give Vigor of Trust the greenlight.

<DIV>You must be thinking of something else.  Vigor of Trust is a 12 hour buff if I remember right.  Are you thinking of Blessing of the penitent.  That is a 3 minute hp buff.  At adept 1, blessing of the penitent gives me like 70 hp but more importantly, it lets me proc those essences.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tegra, 29 paladin, Lavastorm</DIV>

Yeah I was, I was thinking of Ancient Pledge.

I have Adept 3 DoF, it is a lifesaver, 240 absorbtion at 18. Have not checked it at 20 because nothing can hit me right now. I highly reccomend it. It allowed me to solo crows, stags and any ^^ green i have found since I got it. I have Adept 3 Rightious Anger. Dont do it. Hits for 55 to 75 wich is nice, but still lots of resists and that is on green ^^ in ant. Afraid to see how many resist I get in TS.I have Adept 3 Charge. This is great. hits for 55 to 75 like the Rightous anger. I wish it was part of a HO. I use it all the time. I hit everytime in between HO. Dont know how long they will be usefull but that is what you get for them.

Charge has a great use in HO rings if you're grouped with a scout. Lucks Bite is good damage and charge is the final part for the figher class. BTW, I wouldn't do demonstration of faith. You get faithful zeal in the mid-high 20's and Vigor of Trust does not upgrade from what I've seen. I'd definately do VoT because stats are much harder to come by in large amounts like 15 or 16.

Also, I have adept III charge and it is a great choice... but still not the best. It is upgraded in the early 30's with something called Vengeance. It has a crushing debuff and does up to 100 at apprentice 1. Can't wait to upgrade it.

I had recently found a coral and asked a guildy if he could make an Adept III for me.After reading this post I asked if he could make Adept III Vigor of Trust, but it seems there is no recipe for Vigor of Trust Adept III. (Or any apprentice levels)

<DIV>I would pick DoF also.  I have found it to be the spell that sets me apart from the other fighters.</DIV>

<DIV>go to <A href="http://eq2.tentonhammer.com" target=_blank>http://eq2.tentonhammer.com</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>check out the skill list.  do not invest heavily in a skill that will soon be replaced by a better one.  i made an adept iii wild swing upgrade with my scholar.  well worth the investment.  wild swing works again and it gives me a good attack when i am out of power.</DIV>

<DIV>I do not  think vengeance stuns the mob like charge does (does not seem to anyway). I would get charge adept 3 if you are thinking long term, and DoF if you want the best choice right now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-I</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

If it was me - id go for Adept III DoFDont worry about FZ replacing it at 26... because quite frankly it wont, your Adept 3 DoF will use less power and be more affective than the base FZ, its a great spell to use while pulling multiple mobs - keeps you alive while the mobs munch on you as you run back to the group - less healing less agro on the clerics.

Since I had just gotten Faithfull Zeal as new ward i asked my guildy to make me a charge adept 3 <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />(And also asked him if he could make an appr 4. version of Faithfull Zeal)
