<DIV>I've found Rescue to be useless so far. There was another thread where this was discussed and there were some who claimed it was a lifesaver, especially when you're mt and someone has to pull the mob off you. You can supposedly get aggro back by using this as it increases your hate position by 1. I haven't had the need to use it in this situation, but I have used it when a nuke-happy wiz or an over-zealous healer has pulled a mob off of me and onto them and I have yet to see it work. The unbelievably long recast time is also a sore spot. For the time it takes to recast, I want a fool-proof works-everytime spell, like Lay on Hands. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, having said that, I do reserve the right to invoke the "Moronic Newb Clause" which guarantees me a mulligan if I'm using the spell incorrectly or not fully understanding its proper use. And on that note...is there a way to know what your hate position is during battle? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lem</DIV>

<DIV>Do you think hate position is just a simple ranking 1-6 in a group?  Uh, if I'm MTing, I would hope I'm never lower than an accidental slip to 2 (1 being most hate).   In this case, I have plenty of other spells/CA's to use to put me back at #1 (which is obvious if the mobs aggro back on me).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I'm off-tanking, well, do I really want to jump over the MT's hate ranking?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's this way with most of the games numbers/stats....no sense of absolute scale.  Only that if a mob is beating on you, you're #1 on its list.</DIV>

You know, somewhere in that 2-6 range. You see, this is where the Moronic Newb Clause come in handy. The things that seem logical aren't always. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Everything else you said makes sense. Thx.   </DIV>

<DIV>Lem, sorry if that sounded harsh.   My questions and comments weren't directed at you - they were genuine!   I'm as in the dark as you (Lem) and the collective 'you.'  :smileytongue:</DIV>

<DIV>well, I can say this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>if you are duoing with someone, it will work every time, since you only have one person to dethrone on the hate-list. And yes, I have tried it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

The problem is this... in a normal group situation I never lose aggro, or at least not so much that 1 taunt doesn't give it back. The problem lies in the fact that right now aggro goes ape[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] sometimes, and after killing 1 mob in a group, it seems to wipe the main tank off the hate list, while leaving everyone else on it, so no matter how much you taunt or use Rescue, you're still far below the other people's accumulated aggro and usually won't ever get it back until the mobs is almost dead.
