I keep hearing this in 'some' groups but no matter how many times I tell them it has a 30 second recast some people just don't get it. Sometimes I end up telling them to learn how to play their character in the current group makeup as to not get aggro. Usually not that nicely though. Then they yell that they have a mob on them so if you try to get it off them they complain that you don't keep the same mob targeted. Make up your mind!Is this just me or do some of you run into this?

<DIV>This is pretty common. And it seems for all fighters that AE taunt was weakend a few days ago making it harder to keep aggro. What I usualy do is tell my group to not use me as the MA (main assist) since I will be constantly switching targets to keep aggro. If they don't agree with this kindly ask them to find another tank and leave, its not worth the hassal to deal with players who refuse to listen to suggestions on how make the group function better.</DIV>

<DIV>How to maintain agro:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) Don't group with idiots.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) Use Knight's stance, Blessed Weapon, and your other personal buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) Use the highest damage weapon you can find depending on what you're hunting, blues and under = 2 hander, whites above = sword and board.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4) Pull group with ranged Devine Damage, then hit AE taunt, then Inflame, then if there are no adds near by use the AoE damage spells, and cycle to AE taunt when it's back up, and Inflame also.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5) Don't forget to use wards, which generate agro, and self heals.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6) Finally, find out who usually draws agro from you and cast intervene on them, this spell transfers damage from them to you and transfers some agro to you as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My only problem are the Neanderthal Warriors and Healers (not all, but allot of Clerics and Guardians seem to fall into this category) who don't think Crusaders and Paladins/SKs can tank.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I feel that Paladins have to know their abilities even more so than Guardians, but a skilled Paladin can tank just as well as a Guardian.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you feel lazy, be the support tank, if you feel up to the challenge be the MT.  You're great in either role.</DIV>

<DIV>Hit your AE taunt. Tab is your best friend. Grab aggro on a mob, hit Inflame/etc then Tab to the next and Hit Inflame again. Repeat. Anyone who gets aggro then is overextending their hate.</DIV>

<DIV>I can't say there is much more of that type of situation then another.<BR>It always depend on people in your group, if its not a good group i just leave.<BR>And its true makes me laugh to see caster and healer running around when agroed, it makes not difference at all, the best bet for a non tank is to stick very <BR>close to tank, make easier for us to pull back agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Erick Helligridder, Paladin 20th season</DIV> <DIV>Blackburrow server</DIV> <DIV>--------------------------------------------------</DIV> <DIV>Sodo Pureknight 32th season Paladin</DIV> <DIV>EQlive, Morell-thule server</DIV> <DIV>--------------------------------------------------</DIV> <DIV>Saule WolfPact 33th season Druid</DIV> <DIV>EQlive, Morell-thule server</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Saule on <SPAN class=date_text>12-16-2004</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>11:52 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Saule on <span class=date_text>12-16-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:55 AM</span>

Just my 2 copper: Instead of using your Weapon Proc use Redemtpion on a High End Melee Class that most likely nicks your aggro. Best try the group out a bit and see who nicks aggro first, then put redemption on that one. I always go with scout classes - they have been the first to nick it all the time. Think it's due to their backstab and being in melee range. Redemtpion will then transfer enough hate to you to make sure noone will nick it ever again. I pull with a range spell, start my combo and finish it with a AE Taunt. After that I shouldnt need to AE Taunt again - tho single target taunts will be done at times just to keep the mob on it's toes. Try it out, I guess you will like it too. I am level 28 atm and worked everywhere so far.

<DIV>You are running into the whole issue of newbie-itis. People that fuss about me switching targets make me want to boot them immediately because it tells me they are targeting me and hitting atack. When people are going to learn to make an /assist (MTnamehere) hotkey I don't know. I have to get aggro..that's my job which means I need to switch targets. I now hold seminars when I join groups..try it and you will be floored at the way some people play.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I HATE that click on tank+hit attack thing..GRRRRRR.</DIV>

Just go with Knights Stance (cuts down on healing) then toss redemption on the healer (if the group is a 1 healer group), the chanter (if you have a chanter and are doing CC) or the highest-level scout in group (preferebly a dirge). Use blinding light or smiting prayer as it pops, use inflame to taunt before a mez break and make sure divine inspiration is always up. Low 20's sucked for aggro, at 25+ you shouldn't have any problem tho'.

<DIV>Good point on redemption <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I'll have to work that when I get there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good point on noobie-itis also.  I can't wait until some people get more familiar with the mechanics.  I think I'm going to make a hot key that says, assist me or use tab or F8, but don't complain when I switch targets to save your but from agro.</DIV>
