<DIV>Has anyone actually found out for definate? I have read countless posts saying it's faster than running, not as fast as sprinting, faster than SoW, not as fast as PathFinding, and to be honest, I'm completely confused now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've only used my horse a little as I've only recently dinged 20, but it doesn't feel very fast. I just wondered if anyone had had it confirmed, or had done testing of any kind.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd do it myself, but I don't have a decent way of timing it. Typing /time before and after a run doesn't seem very accurate.</DIV>

<DIV>I know for sure it's faster than normal running because I leave mobs in the dust now and instead of going around them, I'm plowing right through them when I'm going places.  However, I <STRONG>feel</STRONG> slow because the animation is so awkward ... the horse feels like it's one of them horses in a carnival Merry-Go-Round where they're gliding on air.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm going to /feedback this (along with the straight-legged jump that looks absolutely ridiculous) to the devs ... I'd suggest everyone do the same so that it's taken seriously.</DIV>

<DIV>Holy Steed is slightly faster than SoW. I know this because I frequently duo with a druid.</DIV>

It's definitely faster than a normal run or (pre-order) jboots because I'm constantly passing folks on my way through Antonica.</DIV>

<DIV>Yes! I love my horse!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>She outruns my shammy partner, unless he casts SoW on himself and then sprints.  And even then I'm not sure he keeps up, we really haven't tried.  But I can keep up the pace for 12 hours and he can't!  Mua ha ha ha ha!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here's a question:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does anyone see a difference if you and your horse (the animation is sooo funny) have SoW cast on them?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I did the first part of 'The Journey is Half the Fun' around Antonica last night and made it with about 20 seconds to spare, so yup, it is faster. I spent the rest of the night just riding around and battering stuff from atop my horse. I love it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just need the clip-clop sound effects adding and I'll be happy.</DIV>

Never noticed that. They definately need to turn it up though as it feels more like I am floating that riding a horse..hehe.</DIV>

Aye, there is a sound. But frankly, it's not a proper 'clip-clop'. And it should change depending on surface. Anyone know if this can be replaced client side?

How about we get some sounds for the horses running... There is no clip clop at all.

<DIV>Deadmeatt,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The coconut halves drop in Thundering Steppes.  When you get a squire, he will follow your horse utilizing the coconuts to make the clip-clop sound.  I'm still confused on how coconuts get to Thundering Steppes, I mean, their tropical, right?</DIV>

<DIV>Van, that is quite simple - they are occasionally dropped by unladen swallows.  Some still argue about whether they are African or European (as it has never actually been witnessed per se).  Then there is the issue of one being to small, and the other being non-migratory...oh well.</DIV>

<DIV>The Unladen Swallows can be found at the shubbery of Ni!  Your gathering will need to be 201.</DIV>

<DIV>I wish that would've pulled the horse from DAoC and put it in EQ2 cause it always felt like I was riding a real horse in that game.  Like the poster earlier said it feels like I'm on a merry go round riding my horse.  Hopefully they will find time to improve it in the not so distant future.</DIV>

<DIV>Ok, a horse sound is being added for a next update. <DIV>If you aim to go after the Unladen Swallows found at the shubbery of Ni, just be warned to look out for the vorpal bunny that resides there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>IMHO the horse should have come later, be faster and be the reward from a quest. Not as a 14 silver "Freebie" for looks.</DIV>

<DIV>I don't know about anyone else, but I've races one of almost everything itn the game and nothing and/or noone has outrun me on my horse. I don't think it should be faster. I think it's just fine :smileyvery-happy:</DIV>

<DIV>Wow something is different with my friend, I play a shaman with jboots and I am faster than his horse with just sow, or with just jboots. When I use them both I out pace him by miles it seems.</DIV>

<DIV>Yes Horses are indeed faster than running,    it looks slower than it is because your viewpoint is almost twice as high off the ground</DIV>
