<div>Hello all. I have just a few questions for the members of the shadowknight community. My apologies if these questions have already been asked. I tried doing a forum search for any questions that I might have but, I kept getting an error message after several atempts. I just created a shadowknight alt to play outside of my normal XP group and I am quickly enjoying the character.</div><div> </div><div>As stated though, I have a few questions:</div><div> </div><div>#1. Where might I find the shadowknight trainer in Freeport for upgraded apprentice CA's and "fun" spells?</div><div>#2. When soloing, which would be better, one-hander and shield or a two-hander? I assume that being in offensive stance also helps.</div><div>#3. Are there any "must do" quests that you would recommend?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for taking the time to answer these. I am a frequent patroller of the EQ 2 boards and it seems that SK's have a great community here. Looking forward to hearing any advice you might have.</div>

The Shadowknight Trainer is located with all other Fighter trainers inside the West Freeport Militia house. Each trainer is also sporting the level 20 quest armor for that class so you can get a preview of what it looks like.Soloing I prefer Two-hander, specifically a [Removed for Content] sword (rp thing since he's a half elf), since its a little faster which makes proc effects work more often. Usually I'm in offensive stance as well since it doesnt affect mitigation, only avoidance which isnt that great for plate wearers anyway.Grouped depends on the situation. If I'm not the main tank I dont change a thing. If I am MT but we're not facing anything too tricky, I still keep the weapon but sometimes change to defensive stance, since I can get an avoidance bonus due to a buff we can put on a teammate. In a heavier dungeon romp where I'm MT, I go one hander and shield with Defensive stance. This is also a great way to go vs. casters since the shield gives you another method to interrupt them and knock them on their butts. As far as 'Must Do' quests go, I'd reccomend starting the Armor Quests at 20. In the Mid 20s do the Shiny Brass Halberd heritage quest (incredible weapon for the level) and the Shiny Brass Shield hq in your late 30s (excellent shield for your 40s)I'm sure the other SKs here will have even more suggestions for you.

For soloing it will be entirely dependent on what your doing for what stance/weapon your using. Generally using a 2 hander + offensive stance will cause the fights to go quicker. But for alot of yellow + mobs or lower level heroic encounters I pull out the trusty sword and board and plant myself in defensive stance. <div></div>

<div></div>Doesn't using a shield give you an extra stun ability? What I mean is, isn't one of our stuns based on having a shield?<div></div><p>Message Edited by Sillililygirl on <span class="date_text">03-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:03 AM</span></p>

<div></div><font size="2">Yes, we get a shield bash ability fairly early on (can't remember the level right now), but it also acts as a taunt.</font>

<div></div><p>Make sure to do the quest line in the Ruins. Speak to the NPC woman (no name recalled atm) at the docks. It will end up giving you a very nice pair of plate leggings and plate cuirass that not only look very cool, but will last you til  you get your AQ armor.</p><p>You may need to finish a pre-requisite set of quests in your newbie ghetto's adventure yard (Graveyard, Sprawl or Sunken City) first, but if you listened to your race Mentor as soon as you got off the Outpost, you probably did that already. The quest NPC for these quests sends you to the Ruins.</p><p>You should be about level 12 to hit the Ruins - it is a much tougher zone that it used to be, and the second half of the quest series is against some tough heroics, so grouping 3-4 people is a must. But well worth the time. You get nice faction gains in addition to the armor.</p><p>Have fun!</p>
