I was in a raid with 2 groups the other day and they made me MT. when I played before MT meant 'main tank' and it meant if you where main tank you were responsible for pulling and targeting. has this changed? In this raid even though I was 'MT' someone else pulled and it still seemed like they waited for me to aquire targets? am I missing something? also.. any of you SK's on the PvP server? Im lvl 26 and Im wondering if I should go shield/1h for the stun or stick to a 2h for damage and just use my kick for stun? any suggestions? thanks. <--Mugs .Erudite Battlemage Viva La Solo Revolution!<div></div>

I been in several groups that made me MT and they had a buiser or a assassian pulling and I would just aquire the aggro as they near... As far as the 1h/sheild and 2h goes.. I useally do 1h/shield if I am MT so I got better protection and take damage better and also if a wiz or anyone else gets the agro, I have a extra stun set aside to free them up and get aggro back. 2h is when ur off tanking and want some added DPS or soloing.. I use a 2h axe while in Nek soloing then using a 1h/shield.. Thats my playing style.. Everyone is diff and groups are not all the same. Do what feels best to you and rock it!</p><p>Aeridir</p><p>22 ShadowKnight - Guk</p>

<div></div><p>Depends on the enviroment and placement of the mobs on who pulls, 90pct of the time I pull when tanking, but their are situations where another class has a better chance to pull a single mob vs the whole room.</p><p>In those cases I suggest you make an assist macro and target the puller, when he pulls you hit macro and the mob is targeted then you pull the aggro (hopefully with taunt resist ... Blahh).</p>

<div></div><p>For PvP you can make a strong argument for either way.</p><p>I play 1H/Shield currently for the shield bash. That knockdown is very handy in a PvP fight. I also have a 1H weapon and a Shield that raise INT, and I would be hard pressed to find a 2H that would raise it that much. Also, I plan to go the INT AA line, which means for the extra nuke I will need to put a symbol in the 2H slot to cast it. Would still like to be swingin during that time.</p><p>On the flip side, due to lag when you chase someone who is fleeing, you would expect that the shield bash would be a good way to stop them. It hardly ever works though. Even though on your screen you are right next to them and the icon lights up, you will get "Target not in Range" so often, I don't even bother. I spend that time on DD that I can cast on the run, and then periodically stop to apply DoT (Grim Coil). Since most PvP fights are very quick, you want to do a LOT of damage as quick as possible. In reality, you may swing less frequently, but when you hit and that guy sees his/her bar go orange before yours, he may break and run. People are not Mobs, and perception can be just as handy a weapon.</p><p>So in short: Um....I dunno. :smileyvery-happy: A Macro to switch off might be best given the situation.</p>

<div>4 Jobs here in raiding.</div><div> </div><div>1> Puller, some pulls require some extra strategy, like using a monks Huricane/God Mode.</div><div> </div><div>2> Main Assist - A main assist doesn't have to be the tank, and more often isn't. The MA chooses what mobs to kill first, everyone in the raid assists this person. Why? So the tank can concentrate on controlling the agro for the group of mobs that the raid is fighting. You don't want to strictly rely on your AOE taunt to keep hate on all of the mobs when warlocks/zerkers/AOE DPS are on the hunt, so you'll be switching mobs spreading the hate. The MA keeps the raid on the same target.</div><div> </div><div>3> Main Tank - This guy is the meat sheild and usually calls the show. You decide if you need the puller to pull, and if you want the MA to call what mobs (you can tell the MA what mobs to start with).</div><div> </div><div>4> Secondary tank - Some strats require mobs to be split, the Secondary tank will tank the split mobs (usually the less powerfull).</div><div> </div><div>5> Off Tank - This guy taunts the mobs your taunting incase you die, he tries to keep under you in the hate list. (Some raids will have an OT, some won't).</div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div>Ya those raid mobs that open with a kill shot or stun you probably want someone pulling that isnt a MT. having your tank stand there stunned for the first few seconds of a fight can be umm . . bad
