ok ... let me first say that I know that the answers to most of these questions are somewhere long lost inside the endless pages on this forum, but due my own lack of perseverance I gave up looking. That said, if some of you with no patience feel the need to blast me ... I understand and will accept it.

I have played EQ1 since... well I guess since it launched and have happily enjoyed my SK (or several) the entire time. I have waited as long as I can to start EQ2 in my own self-petition of change, but alas my resolve slowly collapsed like the early turkish empire. My question, although it doesn't really come in that form is: I have noticed through reading various posts that there have been several complaints/issues with moving characters from server to server. I don't particularly have any "friends" to draw me to one or the other in particular as all of my friends havent yet made the conversion, but I recall in EQ1 there were several servers with excellent guilds that had quite a legacy and reputaion of excellence. likewaise there were several guilds with very negative reputaions as far as the lack of roleplaying, decent guilds, sheer population of dedicated players and so on and so forth. The server I found the most enjoyable to EQ1 (although I didn't try them all) was Luclin and <Legacy of Sorrow> being the dominating guild. I do not relish the prospect of creating muliple characters on different servers in order to test server character, while simultaneously learning the game I have always been fluent in, all over again. Can someone please Lend a friendly hand and advise a good server to begin a long-term serious character with serious guild potential? There... now that I have utterly wasted your time on reading this essay that is my simple question. But it DID require a short exposition of my history to be answered properly.

Message Edited by Valodon on 03-07-200604:29 PM

I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you, we dont want to try all of the servers. At the most you will get someone who has a toon on 6 different servers (1 for each char slot) - you may find someone who has tested the character of more servers by deleting a toon and trying another server but how could you really judge a servers character if you havent been playing on it for a while. The best you can hope for is some limited comparison commentary that would be so biased around that individuals expierence that I dont know how it could be valuable. Additionally these servers have been up 18 mos or so - the character is still developing really.

There... now that I have utterly wasted your time on reading this essay that is my simple question. Good luck!

Message Edited by Valodon on 03-07-200604:29 PM
