I don't think this posting will live long and will probaly deleted in some hours.<br /> <br />I request a vision for class balance and ongoing changes for this expansion.<br />All this and that changes are more confusing than helping.<br />In nearly all other online games i know, there is a posting we want to change this and that, this is the future and so...<br /> <br /><b>Why not in EQ2?</b><br /> <br />Discussing changes before implementing it, safe so much time and avoid fustration on player and developer side.<br /> <br /><b>Why not in EQ2?</b><br /> <br />I don't expect any answer from dev side, really.<br />I only say good bye to this posting, and hello dev null.

yes Would be so awesome to have a clear DBG post saying their class vision<br /> <br />an updated vision of what they expect for classes. It's something that has been asked for some time now, and would be great to have their PoV<br /> <br />please ?

To add to this a reworking of AAs to be relevant to the new changes and the same with class specific buffs would be most welcome.

The fact that this thread is not the most active on the entire forum and reddit combined shows you all you need to know about the state of the raiding playerbase and the game.<br /> <br />We were promised class balances in PoP but it was scrapped because of a lack of ressources and this time around nothing has been said about it, at all.

Well, last time I looked I was number 3 on test server for highest <span style="text-decoration: underline"><b>magic</b></span> hit...<br />I am a ranger. <br /> <br />I don't see any vision involved in current game design..no direction except higher numbers that really are not that exciting.<br />Where is the fun in having a solo dungeon such as Guk, you and your merc can go in and solo it, you and a friend can go in without a healer and promptly get your but handed to you by the first name you run into..there is only enough room for two in the zone? Really? <br />Vision?<br />OK, lets bebop over to a heroic zone with our mercs to heal..whats that, cant hurt them, but its a trash mob, they promptly one shot you and or your merc and your friend and their merc..yep there is a vision. Most of the mobs are carrying a buff that negates whatever you have worked your way up to gain..more vision.<br />There is something wrong when you are given a FABLED set of gear just for visiting a few random places in the game..Im not complaining because its almost a requirement if you want to survive a few minutes in some of the zones, but I have to ask myself..How did we get to this point in the game? No Vision<br /> <br />I will say tho, the new zones are gorgeous..I found my way out of that HUGE library once, couldn't find the way out again so I have little to offer more than I went outside once and killed a couple of names. More of the same..so I am going to guess that this expansion is going to be about another 5 levels of ascension, and gear with different stats so by the time we get to the end my ranger can hit for the highest <span style="text-decoration: underline"><b>magic</b></span> hit on test .lol<br />Why does the library have to be so dam big?<br />Why cant we fly in there?<br /> Oops, so sorry, I got a bit off subject there, lost my vision you might say.

A response from DBG to this topic, you're dreaming !!!<br /> <br />big irl but eq2 for me was a good game in tov, thalumbra. I am a raider T1 (wiz) and in the past, class balance not perfect, but with little number and less pay to win, no ascension, and best in slot item from raid loot... i could hold my role.<br /> <br />for keep this situation, with more and more pay to win, and more inbalance (last exemple rune fighter), i used my cash. Cash for to much rare drop from spell, cash for crit bonus overcap, cash for infuser, cash for krono and by collect item to maintain double cast...<br /> <br />last year 2800$, i was a good customer. I am not alone..... stupid player to spend so much money, caught in the gear, to want to stay useful as dps. But when i see no communication, instant ban from discord for one sentence, when i see we are not considered as players but bank account, when i see game is a farming theme park with repetitive tasks without any challenge, (hard duo zone, one good try you have the loot, now 450000 instances for merge 6 stupid items to a good one), sorry but daybreak lost a good customer.I'm just a **** for them, but yet eq1 player from 2000 to 2005 and eq2 since the launch !<br /> <br />not a prob if i take a ban, it will only be proof of the real motivation of people at DGB.

If something inst said and done quickly about class balance I expect a few a of the top end raid guilds to disband like Relevations did. I know everyone I talk to is feed up with it all and arnt going to continue with the state the game is in currently. More and more abilities keep breaking or become useless yet the response we get is "its not broken, you just not like what it does". For this game to survive and players continue to play balance needs to be restored and make classes defined and unique again. Right now there are several classes that just arn't worth playing!

Sadly a vision on class balance has been asked for a long time. It'd at least stop people referring to their 2004 EQ2 Handbook that specified what each class should be...<br /> <br /><b>AA revamp</b> - Simply not going to happen. You may get minor tweaks each year but never a full rework. That'd probably take a whole month of Caith's time on it's own. <br /><b>Class Balance</b> - Sorting out the basics, and fixing the broken abilities would be a good start. Dragonfire, Instinct, Cataclysm etc. etc. were broken for far too long. All the changes so far for this rebalance have been hidden fervor mods which we have no way of even really testing either.<br /> <br />Personally I have given up on class balance. It was sold to us as part of PoP (Abilitiy consolidation was even hinted at in the AMA in Summer 2017), but never happened. We are what, 3/4 weeks away from launch of this expac, and so far the changes have been negligible. But hey, maybe i'll be surprised.

I drop a lot of money on this game too, and I would drop more, If they actually fix all the things they've said they will fix (stuff previously mentioned), and not add stuff that makes Zero sense. <br /><br />For example. I really don't understand why in the hell they would make a Tank Mechanic forcing Tanks to use a spell on Heroic and Raid Bosses, and if it's not cast, it wipes the tanks group??? If you don't want zones to be run without a tank, then just have a group check, when groups zone in. I believe they already have done this, haven't they? ...and if there is no Tank in the group, make it not doable... I see this Bulwark Spell mechanic alone driving people away from tanking Heroic Zones, if not Raid zones also. Testing Doomfire Raid on my Tank, I was having to drag the first boss around then having to cast that silly Bulwark Spell (every 40 seconds or so) just to keep my group from dying for well over 25 min, to only get the mob to 60% (Yes it was still over-tuned, I know), made me say, Screw this, and I'm considering not tanking at all this expac, if this is how its going to roll...There is really Zero reason to have this kind of silly Tank mechanic. It will only make Tanking less desirable.<br /><br />I hope DBG actually reads this stuff, and listens to their Customer base, or honestly this year all they will get from me is my sub (only because I paid my annual up front), and it will likely be my last, if I play it at a competitive level at all...I am still undecided...I will reserve that decision until I see how the first month or two of the Expac plays out...

Basically having these anti-tank mechanics comes back to balance!!! Balances so far out of whack that for a few expacs groups havent even needs to have a tank to do heroic content. Troubs were holding agro better then tanks, now some tanks do better dps then dps classes, up until a few months ago healers regened prower better then util class.

Good luck getting straight answers about anything <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" alt="Smile" /> it's a cash grab game now a days unfortunately.
