<DIV>Is it just me, or is AQ2's requirement of 8 giant wretchs a ridiculous bottleneck to what should be an easy quest? I've been stuck on this point of the quest for days now and have gained two levels since being given the quest. Every time I manage to get a half-[Removed for Content] group together to camp the wretchs that spawn down the ramp from the pool, they never seem to spawn. I grouped with another player last night who's been stuck on the same part for over a week now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Adding insult to injury, the requirements for AQ3 are a joke, relatively speaking--fallen brutes and constructs? Hell, I see a green construct spawning at the pool just about every spawn cycle, and brutes are omnipresent. What the hell is up with AQ2?</DIV>

<DIV>yes they should without a doubt be part of aq3 or aq4... i said the same thing when i was doing aq2 :</DIV>

Problem with the wretches is they routinely spawn under the ground or in the walls, and some times not at all and have yet to be fixed. There was many a night where we had some on track and the scout said they were "right here" but nothing to be seen. They need to get their crap together and get a real patch out.

<DIV>Ugh . . . that's reassuring. You know, it's amusing to see crafters complain about the AQ armor being "too good," thus huring their industry. Being a Level 21 Armorer, I don't feel this way at all, after being subjected to this ridiculous, broken quest. If it were further along, let's say AQ4 or AQ5, it wouldn't be as bad, but the second stage of a series of 6 quests? Come on!</DIV>

The quest is not broken...nor is it difficult to find a spawn of them in FG. I never had them spawn in walls or been bugged. Maybe thats just luck. Wait tilll you get to later mobs...edgewater aint easy. Named in 6th arn't easy...fairies just about made me quit.

<DIV>Didn't have much of an issue with Giant Wretches.  Found a few spots where they spawn routinely and just cleaned them up as they came.  Our group did AQ1, 2 and 3 in about 4 hours or so.  Probably one of the better groups I've been in so far but just to say that if you're with people who know where the mobs spawn, you shouldn't have to much trouble getting through the first 3.  AQ4 in Edgewater IS a pain though.  We were all 22-23 but had a hell of a time getting upstairs through the murkwater vets.  Might have to try going the long way to get there but we gave up after 2 group wipeouts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

A little difficult to get to maybe, but once your there, you should be able to get your 8 in a matter of less than 30 minutes.

Tried finding these guys last night on Nektulos. I can attest that for the last week the spawns just down from the pool have been broken, we've spent a lot of time camping there to no avail. I've seen 2 giant wretches spawn in other places, one was roaming around the pool, and the other was much further down, where the gargoyles spawn. We tried to kill the giant wretch in the room with gargoyles, a group of 5 21's, and one 22 (no enchanter, one healer), and we got one bad pull and were completely wiped out. The gargoyle room is much too difficult for a group of people who are at the level for which the AQ2 is meant.I hope this gets fixed soon <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Gargoyle room's where I did mine... It wasn't easy, but it's not supposed to be.From memory, the only adds you should have to worry about is the spawn right by that torch on the ledge you walk in onto (assuming you fight from where I did) and possibly the roamer that paths up and down the stairs, but I don't remember how far he walks, so maybe not...In any event, that's two spawns you have to deal with. Timing them is not hard. The wretches hurt, but if people pay attention to mob positioning, facing and aggro, it's far from impossible.

Yup nektulos is where i had my problems levels ago as well. That room is busted beyond beleif. We camped down there one night for 2 hours waiting for wrethces to spawn. That said, if i was ever going to level up another character i'd buy from crafters. No way i'd do those quests again. The armor is nice but you'd be ok in Crafted.

<DIV>That's all well and good, but after four hours in FG last night (Nektulos server), one giant wretch spawned. Many people were complaining about it in /ooc. I'm also trying to illustrate the fact that AQ3 is easier than AQ2, which just shouldn't be. I know of the other place where wretchs spawn, but it's much further down and requires a much tougher group to get to--pickup groups usually aren't skilled enough to handle it, especially given the fact that it's a level 20 quest.</DIV><p>Message Edited by vwlssknght on <span class=date_text>12-22-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:10 PM</span>

<DIV>Agreed.. fix the bloody thing. There's no reason as to why this problem isn't fixed by now.. I've been trying to get with a group to go down further into FG to get the darned Wretches but to no avail. Fix the spawn of Wretches that is supposed to appear near the lone Watcher. Messed up on Befallen server for a couple days, and all I need to do is get 2.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This sux</DIV>

Wretches used to be very easy to get when I did AQ2 which was quite a while ago. The room that was supposed to spawn them spawned them like crazy. Now every time I have gone back to FG the room is empty, and they only spawn quite a bit deeper into the zone. I can imagine that this is terribly annoying, but if you can get a decent group you can find 4 or so spawns down deeper.

<DIV>Sheesh. After another failed attempt with another [Removed for Content], pick-up group, I was going to go to bed, as I had been trying to get to the lower spawns for several hours, as the upper spawns were, as always, [Removed for Content]. I had accumulated, roughly, 30% exp debt and I hadn't even died. I was going to go to bed and had turned my machine off when I remembered that I had finished my pristine shards collection but had yet to give it to Renny. I powered up, logged back in, turned in the shards and headed back to FG thinking I was going to camp there for the next evening's frustration when I got invited to an AQ2 group. We managed to get to the lower spawns and I finally finished the damned quest, not to mention the fact that I won the lotto for a pick. Hah! And at 4:00 AM.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I find it amusing that I see grey brutes and contructs running around the pool for AQ3, at Level 22. I could practically solo AQ3 if I was bored enough to camp the single spawns. AQ2 should've been 3. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>See? <DIV>Why did you turn in your collection with debt?  Just wait until you are debt free.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On AQ3, I need 1 brute and like 7 constructs and solo the single spawns is exactly what I am going to do.</DIV>

<DIV>These things are completely screwed up.  AQ2 mobs should not have the AE (Barrage?) on them hitting for up to 520 points.  These things are unreasonably tough.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Decent groups in FG on Najena are becoming few and far between.  People are bailing left and right to avoid debt, in the middle of battle.  It's s sad situation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My wife and I prefer to duo (SK and Defiler).  At 23 and 22 respectively, we can handle double ^^ blue singles and multiple one ^ encounters without much problem.  You try it with these [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] wretches and forget it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wake the ZOMG up SOE and have someone tune these encounters a bit please.  Getting walked on by the ZOMG rats is ridiculous at this stage.</DIV>

I must be lucky, as from 17 to 26, I've fought in Fallen gate.. I've never seen the giant wretches spawn under the world or in the walls. As for the Armor quest 2 encounter.. I didn't have a problem with it. So something hits you for 500 at 20-22, Yeah.. it hurts, but that's why there are inquisitors and defilers. At 23-25, wretches hit between 250-350. At 26-27, they barely hit you at all <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I went to the bottem of FG at 22, hit the bull's pit and finished my quest on Giant wretches. You want to know why you are getting beat down? You didn't do the subcity quests. you will get a full suit of heavyarmor at 20 if you do them all. Are they solo? Of course not. The encounter requirement for Armor quest 2 is fine. You are shadowknights, not girly men. Act like it.

I have yet to see a Barrage that hits for 520 (on low-20s mobs). Maybe 200-350 points. I've seen mid-20s mobs use a HT on me for 500ish, a few crushing blows for 350.And once you hit your mid-20s, about 1/4 of every mob that you fight will have Barrage (beavers in Nek, spiders at Nek beach, undead patrolmen on N'Mar Ascent... to name a few). It's something that you're going to have to learn to deal with using smarter tactics. Tuck the main tank in the corner, or against the corridor wall and make sure everyone else is behind the mob. Healers and finger-wagglers stand a bit farther away.At level 26, with good AC, I often resist at least half of the Barrage attacks anyway. However, good things for /feedback to the devs would be to:- /bug report when wretches are spawning below the world- /feedback that there should be more spots in FG where wretches spawn (and other AQ mobs)- /feedback that X number of people in FG is too many and they should lower the threshold before the zone gets a second instance

AQ6 was easy, comparatively speaking. After AQ2, it took me, roughly, two more days to accomplish the next four quests. Having done all six, AQ2 is still a bugged piece of sh*t and needlessly difficult compared to AQ3.
