<DIV>Hello all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just wondering if barbarians would make a good SK? Please post your opinions.</DIV> <DIV>I just realize that thier wisdom is now 18 instead of 25 (as printed in the manual, doh!).</DIV> <DIV>Should I go a Berserker instead?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vidurr</DIV> <P>Message Edited by SpongeBob on <SPAN class=date_text>11-14-2004</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>12:24 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by SpongeBob on <span class=date_text>11-15-2004</span> <span class=time_text>07:13 PM</span>

<DIV>A Barbarian should make a great SK, they have awesome strength & stamina, and average agility.  Don't let their 18 WIS bother you - this is coming from a Barbarian Druid, so trust me. I remember freaking out when our WIS was lowered long ago, but once I got into beta and later after release I found it truly didn't make too much of a difference.  Sure I may just run out of power a wee bit faster than a high-WIS race, but not by much.  There is no real discernable difference I have found yet between my Barbarian Druid and other healers.  Plus, a Barbarian SK wouldn't be necessarily uncommon, but it will be way more unique than an Ogre Shadow Knight.:smileywink:</DIV><p>Message Edited by Ravengaard on <span class=date_text>11-14-2004</span> <span class=time_text>04:23 AM</span>

<DIV>Trust me.  The Strength is great to have.  I run a high elf Crusader, going for SK, and I hit like a sissy.  I think my highest hit so far at 13 is a whopping 16 points melee.  It may be my weapon, or it may be my lack of strength, or it may be both.  But I can still tank well, especially with a good priest.  My taunts usually stick the first time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't think that any race can make a bad anything.  I think it's the player that matters.</DIV>

<DIV>I think that long term, all classes make equally good SK's. In later levels, with the equipment upgrades, starting stats won't matter as much.</DIV>

<DIV>I started a Barbie SK, and so far things have worked pretty good. I gotta say, as was mentioned before, the starting stats really don't matter a whole lot. Right now I'm Level 12 and have the following stats:</DIV> <DIV>STR 49</DIV> <DIV>AGI  22</DIV> <DIV>STA 32</DIV> <DIV>INT 14</DIV> <DIV>WIS 25</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Attack 179</DIV> <DIV>Defense 289</DIV> <DIV>Health 328</DIV> <DIV>Power 264</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, these aren't the "best" they could be, but also keep in mind that everything I have I got thru quests or I have made. In fact the weapon I am still using is the hammer I created on IoR...and thats a "crude" <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> .</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can look at my stats page Server: Befallen, Name: Ishtar.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The things I have noticed is to pay attention to where you are, and what you are fighting. Those triangles on the mobs names, really do make a difference. I can take a group of Greens, no prob (3 mobs), but I have a hard time with 1 Green with two triangles pointing up...so just cuz its green doesn't mean anything. Also, now that I have crusader, I can take on undead things alot easier than before, etc. etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I solo alot, but when I am in a group with either a Priest or Scout, we can ravage an entire area suited to our group lvl with ease. And since they fixed the Suspensions, I can actually do some decent damage as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope that helps a little,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I am going the SK route with my Barb, so far I am doing very well as an MA or a support tank.  I had a DE Warrior in Beta and they did well too, you just have to use your skills in the most effective way you can.  IMO, any race truelly can play any class, you stats are gonna go up.</DIV>

I play probably the rarest of class / race combinations: Gnome Crusader ---> SKI hold agro very well, I can take great (especially with smart use of dmg shields. While i may not hit for a ton, smart use of HO's will make up for it while soloing and in a group you shouldnt be worried about dealing alot of damage anyways.

<DIV>Halfling SK here ,and it works beautifully over all they have the highest total sta/agi/wis than any other race str sta doesnt need to be high because u get that when u become a new class and also thats what gear mainly gives.</DIV>

<DIV>If you take a barb, and on your first skill up option, you put your points into AGI, you will end up more balanced, and at higher levels then a human. In fact, you will be at about 25 wis, 35 str, 32 sta, 28 (if I remember) in Agi. Those are some pretty decent and balanced stats. I don't recall, when I was trying combos, any class having that type of balance at those higher numbers.</DIV>
