View Full Version : Relic Cloaks. Link Them.

This entire situation sickens me a bit. A beta is for testing and fixing things that are underpowered/overpowered/broken. In regards to these cloaks, they need to be available from a merchant for the players who prepurchased your expansion if you want feedback on them.<br /> <br />It's fairly clear to me the situation is one of the following.<br /> <br /> <br />A. You want them to be tested and are willing to make changes.<br /> <br />OR<br /> <br />B. You just don't care and will do whatever you want regardless of feedback.<br /> <br />A1. If you want feedback you should put the cloaks on the beta buff merchant so everyone can try them and give feedback.<br /> <br />OR<br /> <br />2b. Why did you even put them in beta if you don't want feedback? Why even have a beta if you aren't willing to look at player feedback on the most important part of class balance introduced this expansion. Lol.<br /> <br />The entire theory 'We don't want more feedback about cloaks. Omg look at how much feedback we already got with only half of them discovered!'.<br /> <br />Yea. The cloaks range from unequippably terrible to godly overpowered, so you're going to get some feedback in regards to that. They need to be adjusted.<br /> <br />That is why there exists a beta.<br /> <br />A beta that your customers (the people who pay you) payed for the privilege to be a part of.<br /> <br />We payed you, to be able to help you make a better product.<br /> <br />At least give us the TOOLS to be able to post feedback, even if after that you're just going to ignore the feedback given (which IS your prerogative to do so, if that's what you choose).<br /> <br />Not giving people access to the cloaks is just a terrible decision, no matter how it's looked at.

Sickening is a bit of a stretch. But I do agree they should have had the relic cloaks on the beta buff merchant for testing. Many of the cloaks are quite polarizing and in essence, have potential to be game-breaking or at least way of of balance from each other. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At the end of the day, if they are gamebreaking , they will get fixed.. but better to be on Beta rather than live -- being thats the whole point of Beta.

Actually this is a bit miss-named you are not playing a beta but a QA build.<br /> <br />An Alpha build is an unfinished game<br />A Beta build is a game where it is finished but balancing and tweaking is ongoing<br />A QA build is a final release where feedback is needed for any bugs or broken bits missed in alpha and beta and its rare any mechanics or sweeping changes are made - instead feedback is gathered for another speculative release later down the line after things settle down and people get used to the "new world order".

@Liou_Unrest - The concern is that they release to live with 90% of them being worthless, and 10% being overpowered. That's what it looks like WILL happen. It's extremely concerning that quite a few classes can't even give feedback because their cloaks are as of yet undiscovered due to RNG. It's further concerning that the dev teams response is 'We don't want to show you the cloaks because we don't want more feedback about our items'.<br /> <br />@Boli - Using that terminology this is early alpha, and live is beta. Live might even be alpha and beta pre-alpha.<br /> <br />@Alphonsus - This thread is not talking about the effects of the cloaks. It's simply saying that they should be on a merchant. The discussion of effects can take place elsewhere.
