<div>Unarmed (completely empty weapon slots) is obviously being phased out.</div><div> </div><div>I logged onto test today - the first thing I did was create a new bruiser (an ogre).</div><div> </div><div>He started with a gi that looked fairly nice, and two extremely lousy fist weapons called 'bruiser knuckles'</div><div> </div><div>I bashed a few level 1 enemies with them and did well, killing them almost instantly.</div><div> </div><div>I then took the weapons off, remembering how at very low levels brawlers previously did a little better without weapons than with lousy weapons.</div><div> </div><div>Well the first thing I noticed was of course that my foe didn't die instantly. In fact they survived for a while (same level 1 worker bee).</div><div> </div><div>The next thing I noticed was that my Crushing skill raised. Crushing? Not Fist?</div><div> </div><div>Well I ended up equiping my bruiser knuckles to finish the fight.</div><div> </div>

It does seem like that, doesn't it? I must say I enjoy the Offensive/Midway stance proc on my alt bruiser, but absolutly hate that my fists can't hit nameds. Which is a shame because the stance procs double damage without any weapons equiped at all. I mean, the fists don't even count as treasured, nevermind legendary, and the damage is pathetic. You'd think that giving up the stats of weapons, we'd gain a bit more power completly unarmed. For a warrior who counts on honing their bodies in deadly weapons, we sure don't use our bodies very often :I.<div></div>

Which is again why I say SOE needs to make up their [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] mind and choose what they want. Atleast balance the proc damage on Engulf out.

<blockquote><hr>Wiseman160 wrote:<div>The next thing I noticed was that my Crushing skill raised. Crushing? Not Fist?</div><hr></blockquote>Well... Crushing is the skill that is supposed to go up. That's the only melee skill that isn't raise-automatically that bruisers get.

Take into account, its the test server. they are sill tweaking alot of this 1-20 stuff. Alot of the toons i have there are using the wrong skills for diff things, skills rais slowly etc etc. Its no where near perfect yet.Personally they need to make fists a DW weapon... for monks/bruisers anyhow<div></div>

<div></div>I don't know about the future. But I do know that I have hit named and even raid encounters barefisted. I thought we couldn't either and stated in guildchat that it was too bad I couldn't proc 1500 heat dmg with my bare fists on these raids, and a monk replied yeah you can, I do. I tried it and sure enough I was hitting them. Though on some ecnounters, even though not crush immune I am unable to hit them, but I have for a fact hit more than one named raid encounter bare-fisted. Just thought I'd add this lil tidbit of info.

<div></div>Are you certain you were actually hitting them? Or just procs were hitting them?Procs land barefisted even if mob is immune to your fists, but auto-attack however won't.

<div></div>Yeah I am positive I have a seperate window purely with only my hits in it. If you would like to double-check, you can always ask Ledbetter. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<div></div>Thats weird. Didn't think that was possible. Perhaps bugs in SOE's wonderful coding allowing you to only do it on a very specific set of mobs.

<div></div>Who knows? I mean like I won't be able to hit some things that are below 60 epics, and then say when I go into one of the higher than 60 epic zones I can hit them. To me personally, they should have done like how monks were in EQ1. If you were wearing some magic gloves (Legendary or Fabled in EQ2 terms,) you should be able to hit these mobs. Actually, as you hit the higher levels in EQ1 your fists were considered magic weapons regardless if you were wearing gloves or not. Considering we as bruisers are supposed to have conditioned our bodies to be the perfect weapons, that would make sense IMO.

I recommended this in beta for DoF (I was a big proponent for bare-fisted fighting and still think it is unbeatable in some situations)-Simply give us a "buff" that takes a concentration slot and makes our fists be considered "legendary" weapons.Lummox60 Bruiser -Najena<div></div>

<div></div>Would be odd to have a whole buff to take concentration just to make our fists "Legendary" weapons. They already should be! They also should have dual-wield taken into account. Its ridiculous to be acting like we are one armed as opposed to converting our bodies into weapons.
