<div>Hello everybody,</div><div> </div><div>i'm a new bruiser and i'd like to know where we can see the exact damage we're doing with hands. When u wear a weapon, you can see its stats.</div><div> </div><div>The only thing i know is that i'm hitting harder with hands =) but i'd like to know if there is details about our damage with hands.Thank you in advance,</div><div> </div><div>Zeyel</div>

There isn't any information available save trying it out. General concensus is that it's not really worth using non-weapons except for the very low levels, though this may change with the changes to 1-20 levels or it have already changed with better weapons available at the pre 20 levels. In most cases anyway you'd be better off equipping two duel-wield or one two-handed weapon instead as fists are slow and counts as a one-handed weapon.<div></div>

I used hands for maybe one or two fights, then quickly put the weapons back on.Dont be fooled by the Eye Candy that is the bruiser proc line.  Procs are not guaranteed damage, and you should NEVER factor that in unless you are using two identical stat weapons but one has a proc. The increase damage from the bare handed proc LOOKS big, but when you factor in everything else its probably a lot less.Weapons are better damage...early, early EQ1 fists were the way to go.  Monks could use weapons, but they were inferior to fists.  Then kunark came, and the moss covered twig was god....since then, weapons>fists. With weapons you might get some stat increases, and some HP or power increases or whatever...with fists, you get nothing.  Plus, you still get the proc (not as much) and it goes off the same 1-5% regardless.Stick with weapons...plus the animation is MUCH better.  Two handed melee staves (not caster) look great as well.  Fists just look blah..

<div></div><div>Hopefully one day SOE will make up its mind and say: You will deal better damage with bare-fists, or with weapons.Or, a personal preference and a specific bonus to each.Until then, go barefists unless you can afford rare-crafted weapons or you come accross something better at a low level.</div>

<div></div><p>Yep I agree,</p><p>fists were really better in EQ1. Now they are really too slow ...  too bad we can't see their damage ratio.Zeyel</p>

fitsts should be treated as a DW weapon for brawlers... that;d be very cool.along with Craftable Gis <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div>I think that the Brokers should sell a roll of coins to put in your clenched fists....then you have the best of both worlds.:smileysurprised:

<div></div><p>Fistwraps are weapons that have no model.. you fight barehanded style. It's the fact that "no weapons" gets a bonus in this game that makes things screwy.. since "no weapons" has no other benefit and so many detriments.</p><p>What I'd like to see:</p><p>- Barefists are Dual Wield damage at 20+.</p><p>- Barefists can hit magical requirements.. maybe a stance that allows hitting legendary (taking up a concentration slot, pushing out other things like +hate, etc)?</p><p>- Barefists have their own seperate benefit, outside of damage. Maybe you have more defense with openhand technique... or maybe a stun proc on offensive stance.</p><p>- Oh, and craftable Gi. I mean.. why the heck do they have two lines of crafted VL armor.. it's not like it's advantageous to wear stats while crafting, quite the opposite. "Constructor's" equipment my eye.. where's the Leather line of armor for Brawlers?!</p>

<div></div><p>I would like it if they just changed fistwraps to count for our proc line. Have them do less base damage or something but still have stats and the ability to be imbued, etc.</p><p>That way people can choose between bare handed and DW/2H and have there be some point to it at higher levels.</p>

<div></div><p>Ok, I am very lost here, I have a level 20 Bruiser with two duel wield fists equiped (one on each hand) and both are imbued and proc bout the same as imbued weapons on my other toons.</p><p>I'm I thinkin about somethin you guys are not or does this change at certain levels?</p>

<div></div>I used only my fists till lvl 22ish and wiped the floor with mobs.  Now understand I was just grinding and doing quests for exp, not fighting any epics.  I hope someday they make fists a viable end-game option for us because I would gladly ditch any and all weapons to truly be able to just beat the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]e out of mobs.

<div></div>What I said by "makeup their mind" was more like.Make Engulf proc the same whether weapons are equipped are not so people don't see it and go, oh man, I should go barefists!

<div></div><div>While bare-fists should count for something of consequence, you do have fist weapons which do. Everybody and their dog goes on about baton this and baton that, but if you do a little research you'll see that - particularly starting out - that fist weapons are your pals. Get yourself 2 Spinebreaker Knuckles (14.5 dps or so at lvl 20'ish) and they outstrip anything baton wise for damage - even the imbued batons if you look at the proc percentages.</div><div> </div><div>I was lucky enough to pick up 2 of them for 5g each and they SLAY. I've messed with batons, including imbued - I'm a woodworker, so I've made them - and for the dollar value, you can't beat them early on for speed and damage - so long as you're more agi based than str - tried them as a Troll bruiser and Kerran, and the Kerran just kicks [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] with them. As long as you're going slightly higher agi over str, I'd recommend fist weaps over crushing any day of the week. If you're going str over agi, go crushing. It's more a matter of personal style than straight numbers, but after playing a more agi based Kerran brusier into his 20's versus a more str based troll into his 20's I have to say that *I* infinitely prefer the cat over the troll when it comes to this class.</div><div> </div><div>Ultimately, you need to experiment and find what's right for you. Whatever floats your boat is what's right for you, and you won't find that without experimenting.</div><div> </div>

I have tried bare-fist at various levels in the 40's and 50's, and was always surprised at the amount of damage I ended up producing. My conclusion was basically this: switch to bare fists if your weapons are worse than imbued.Bare fists are basically Treasured quality weapons of your current level. If you're level 49 and still using level 40 weapons, you might find that those 9 levels difference make your fists better. Try them for an evening and see if you notice a difference.Yes it is not steady damage because of the proc, so some fights go much easier than others. Over the long term procs ARE reliable DPS improvement, but not reliable on the short term.

With the slow nerfing of procs over time happening, eventually Crafted will purely dominate, but until then: Its personal preferance, be aware though on named etc you NEED real weapons.
