New AQ with a new look PLUS get to keep your old gi?

The new AQ are completely new armor sets, with stats that are supposed to be tailored to the class.  Look, the main reason we all did the AQ was the Gi look...sure, the stats are okay for that level but lets be honest, its all about the gi.  I just finished my bruiser AQ last nigh.  Edgewater is the worst zone in the game in terms of getting people there, thankfully the final two parts are in Nek Forest ([expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]) which is 1000 times easier (and you can solo all but two mobs). Anyway, on the monk board there is a pic of the new AQ look.  Its a padded leather look, and the Gi is orange (which was the mid color of the original Ashen Order monks in EQ).  Point is, its still got that Gi look, but a little more orange. But here is the thing, from readin that post (and a dev responded) it sounds like its a completly new AQ....meaning you can just start from square one if you already did your previous Bruiser AQ and get another set of armor.  You dont have to turn it in to get the new set (which people dont really like the look of anyway).  So those who completed the first quest can get another gi look....at least thats my take on it. <P>Count yourself lucky, at least you were done with it before the change.  I had the harness look maybe a week before they changed it.  Lemme tell ya, hot pink Gi on a dark green troll is just... just... well it's just plain wrong!  :smileytongue:</P> <P>Did give me tremendous motivation to level quickly though!  :smileysurprised:</P>

I just bought the other AQ items from the assistant as well.  Well, the look is horrible as everyone knows.  But the mitigation is WAY lower than the original AQ.  like 20-30 on every piece.  That may not mean as much to bruisers as we avoid rather than mitigate, but the stats are way off too. They seem to focus on STR and STA rather than AGI.  And its not like the STR or STA is much to brag about.  The chest piece has 8 STR while the old AQ had 5 STR...not much of a difference. Plus, the old AQ has MUCH better resists....the new AQ hardly has any resists at all. All in all, I think I will stick to the old AQ for every piece.  I was hoping that the new ones would overlap all, and I would just stick with the old Gi for the look...but thats not the case.  The old AQ beat the new AQ in just about every facet. If you've finished the quest PRE-LU18, yes you can keep your old Gi.

Yes, it's true those of us that completed the AQ's previous to the patch can keep our old ones, and go get the new also. But....why would you want to? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> From what I understand the stats are overall nerfed, and I know for a certainty the overall look is heavily nerfed..why would I want to look like a reject when I can use my regular gi <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Silly as it may seem, I'm seriously considering switching to monk when they adjust for all levels betraying, as per the Dec. Producers' letter. I have loved my Bruiser, but I can't handle the thought of playing a character I can't stand the look of on a daily basis...  I guess it depends on if they actually use an art department or continue on the path they're on...I guess monks have better aoe aggro anyway..../sigh ~Yira <div></div>
