I was looking them over and I can't decide exactly which one I would want to go for. The Mage 2h actually has decent stats and damage and the Dual Wielder has mediocre stats imo... What do you guys think? Here is the Mage 2h from a Mage's PoV. I saw this linked in game yesterday and to a 55 Bruiser it had same stats but Damage was around 200-400. The Dual Wielder on the right seems to be geared towards brawlers. The Procs are the same on both, the 2h has decent stats, except for that 40 int which will do us no good, and should do pretty good dps. The Dual Wield has a nice DR, damage and speed. So... Which would be the best?

I wonder what the actual proc dmg is on the dual wield.. I also wonder what that Int boost would do to the proc on the 2h.. I will probably go with the dual wield at this point but none of them jump out and say wow thats awesome to me /shrug ..

Edit : While im thinking of it that damage looks low also so I would like to see it linked by someone who can use it. Atleast I hope that is why its so craptastic.

Message Edited by Teche on 11-23-2005 11:32 AM

Uhhh the duel wield is by far a better choice for brawlers. I dont see why any brawler would even consider the 2h staff.

Dual wield is better.

Dual wielding now parses much higher than 2hers (Like 30-50 DPS more), so it's not really a decision anymore.

Before the improvement to dual wields, the 2h weapon would have been better because dual wielders proc'd at like 1%.

Only a level 30 peon here but I was wondering in the case of a dual weild prismatic, can you get two of them?

When you say the + to int does us no good, im not sure thats true. Im pretty sure our magic damage "Sword of battle" etc is based from our int stat.

1) I hate the FoL brawler weapon.

2) I'd rather have draconic baton.

3) I prefer cane of lion tamer and statue court knuckles because of the +crushing mods.

I would think though, that the *best* setup for a lvl 60 monk would be the draconic baton from PoS and the FoL quarterstaff. /shrug

Im not quite happy after seeing the pris 2.0's. The procs are fine, except the regen is broken(not sure if it still is). Every fabled t6 brawler weapon has a better damage rating, and a majority of them have better overall stats, and around the same hp/power. Sometimes an additional crushing skill point. Do we lose all this because of the nice regen? or was it not intended to be that crappy? :smileyindifferent:

Ug, stat bonuses on the DW are painful I hope those get revised!

Int effects the dmg of weapon procs.... its most definatly not worthless. When I go with my dps setup now its str AND int gear. Also, parsed extensively ironwood batons vrs ironwood bo staff... Bo staff still out dps' dual wield for me about 60% of the time.... not sure how yer seeing 30-50 more dps everytime out of dual wielders. I'd like to know tho, I want 30-50 more dps!

I have one this to say about these... WHERE THE *censor* ARE THE MOTHER *censor* GOD [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] FIST WEAPONS?

*big breath* I am tried of seeing all these fake brawler weapons. Any Brawler who uses a weapon that any other class than can use are fakes. Make SOE make our class defining weapons better by refusing to use their other crap.

That is right... DEMAND fist prismatics!

Stand up for our uniqueness!

The great thing about the Prismatic is the look. Fists don't contain much room for looks. The bigger, the more room for design, coloring, etc.
FistWraps = No look.
Knuckles = Very little look.
Cestii's = Very little look.
Baton = Decent sized weapon, room for some coloring and such.

I appreciate uniqueness as much as the next guy, but sadly there is not much room for it in brawler specific weapons.

You cannot argue logically that cestii's and fistwraps have little room for looks. Particle effects are a big part of the design room here, not to mention the numerous designs of gloved type weapons you could easily craft hundreds of various unique and very spectacular and awesome to look at designs out of. Don't give the art team an excuse for the lack of variety of Brawler specific weapons. On that note....lack of Brawler type armor as well. Few GI's here and there but none of them are ultra cool, or worthy of the limitless design capabilities of this game. It's like they don't want to show off what they can do, you'd think they'd have some pride.

Neat fighting animations, four lines of weapons (cestii, cestus, fistwraps, knuckles) devoted exclusively to us, and a couple special armor appearances (gis).

As much as I hate the fishbowl cests and the knuckles look cludgy, we probably have the least to complain about in the looks department. Which, I guess, amounts to sony apologia in the end, but there it is

We may have least, but we still have many. We are the only class that gets class specific armor (Gi's), thats true...but that doesn't mean we can't fight for more. In the realm of classes looking unique, I think EQ2 has the worst variety thus far of Pve Specific games. Thats a sad fact seeing as EQ2 has the most spectacular possibilities for their armor. Whether thats the fault of the coders and art team, or our own by not exploring all of the high end content to get to it....its still lacking. Every plate class looks the same, every caster looks the same, ever Scout looks the same, and us Brawlers suffer huge stat disadvantages just to look different. Now thats a helluva choice, but it is one atleast right? I love the complexity of combat in EQ2, the variety of abilities, wish that extension was broadened to character looks. EQ2 has more potential than any game on the market and they just envelope themselves in negative feedback it seems . They take one step forward and two steps backward. I've gone through almost every MMO on the market thus far, and Eq2 has wowed me more than any other, and after the streamlined combat animations I'll always have that standard, but if progress keeps going as it has, then I may start looking at some old titles, again.
