<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Monks supposedly get a combat art through a quest in Tomb of night called Devastation Fist. </DIV> <DIV>Im sure bruisers have a similar quest but do anyone know what combat art we get and is it worth the effort ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

We get the same skill, it's based on Brawling not Tranquility or Physicality. <div></div>

<DIV>I just finished this off yesterday.  It's a nice fluff skill to have and occasionally can be usefull.  However it comes with so many restrictions it's deffinately not going to change our class or give us that one up on someone else.  It does 220% of a mobs possible hps which means it insta kills the mob.  However, it can't be used on heroic or epic mobs so forget about anything with an arrow.  It stiffles you for 40 seconds so I hope you weren't planning on doing anything afterwards.  It shares a reuse timer with 100 hand slap AND grapple.  100 hand just gets greyed out for the normal 30 seconds (which doesnt matter cause you are stiffled) but grapple is not usuable for the entire 5 minute reuse timer on the skill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's kinda fun when soloing some regular mobs to be able to just drop one.  Only other time I've found to use it is when grouped and a normal mob adds on.  You can turn around and insta kill it while the rest of the group continues to focus on the main target.  Nice but not really necessary since a regular non heroic mob shouldn't be to difficult for a group to deal with in 99% of all situations.  So like I said, nice fluff skill but doesn't remake our class or define us in any way.  I just wish some of the assasins out there would quit crying because we can insta kill a plain mob.</DIV>

<DIV>Does it automatically hit or can it miss/ be resisted like a regular skill ?  That would suck since grapple gets greyed out for 5 mins =/ Its SoE though so Im guessing it works like a regular skill.</DIV>

I've had it resisted 1 time and have used it probably 50 times or so.  So yes it can be resisted but it doesn't seem to happen to often at all.

Mobs can block/parry/riposte it as well if you use it while attacking from their front/side. <div></div>

When using this, always intimidate first.  You'll never miss from behind, <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I think I'm 17th on Toxxulia right now with this skill with around 7800dmg.  I'm still lookin for that lvl 50 regular mob to blast.

Can you give us some more info on this quest?  At what lvl can we do it?  Is it soloable? <div></div>

<DIV>Also I have used it on some group heroic mobs, when theirs more then one in the group and no arrows, Ive had it fail to be used on some NON-Heroic mobs.  Its pretty much a crap shoot sometimes when it works or when it dont.  I dont think some mobs are labled or tagged correctly whether their heroic or not, looks like it depends on a non-shown variable rather then the heroic/not heroic.  Ive never found an epic mob that it worked on though.  </DIV>

<DIV>Depending on your level yes this can be soloable.  The normal mobs in tomb of night are lvl 33-34 heroic.  The named are 34+ ^^ types and can pack a considerable punch.  I believe I soloed it at 43 or 44 but it took me several hours.  There is A LOT of killing you must do to finish these quests.  I even got killed once by one of the named since he was a caster and for some reason during that fight he landed every nuke he had on me.  I easily took him down the second time around though.  After I completed the quests I helped a monk friend of mine do hers.  It took me about 6-7 hours solo (a lot of wandering around figuring out what to do) and maybe 3 hours with the monk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You have to complete 3 quests in order to raise your faction high enough to buy the spell.  Each time you finish a quest it changes the instance of Tomb of Night you go into for the next one.  It's kinda like doing access quests for an instanced zone that your already in.  The quests for bruiser are almost the same as for the monk.  You have to accomplish the same tasks but may be looking for something slightly different.  Along the lines of bruisers get quest credit for killing a mob while the monk has to examine an item that pops up after you kill the mob.    </DIV>

<DIV><A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/MissingScouts.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/MissingScouts.php</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There's a link to the first quest for bruisers on ogaming.  Remember you must complete 3 and then you can buy the spell from the merchant in the camp.  At 35 I highly recommend bringing a full group with you.  Many people may not know the zone but I would guarantee great xp and probably some really good loot drops.  Having a full zone of 33+ heroic mobs all to yourselves should make for a great time.</DIV>

<DIV>When this skill first came out, I had the highest magic hit on Oasis server.. for about 2 hours when a Guardian used his Bloodlines skill to outdo me.  Blast! Now I'm down to #17 because of the Warrior skill.  Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.  And yes, it can be sorta useful/fun when you are killing lots of easy solo mobs for writs or whatnot.</DIV>
