Monk item progression...

I figured I would come to experts and see what they had to say. I've just rolled up a monk on Nagafen recently ( hit 22 last night! ) and I'm loving it. However, I am always questioning my choices regarding gear upgrades and combat arts. Add in the fact that I'm fairly new to EQ2, and I'm left hanging with respect to knowing what items are good, mediocre, bad, or just what exactly I should be striving to obtain. I've started my armor quests, and those seem to be pretty good at the moment, but what should I be hunting down after those? What items do you think are essential for the up and coming monk to be effective?<div></div>

<DIV>In my opinion...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Prioritize the following when choosing gear as a monk...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Str, Sta, Mitigation, HPs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At higher levels you might want to stress Sta and HPs over Str as it becomes relatively easy to cap (especially in groups) at higher levels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For weapons just go with the highest DR (damage rating) weapon and/or weapons you can find.  Generally 2H or DW.  Just add the DR of the DW to compare.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If it has a cool ability ask yourself just how much benefit will that provide in the relatively short time you'll be using it before upgrading before plonking down gobs of money.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And, of course, the more obvious answer make sure all your skills are Ad1 or higher.  Generally the or higher mostly applies to twinks as the starting player won't have cash to splurge on Ad3's, rares, or masters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV> <DIV>Croaker</DIV>

<P>Having good weapons is key, focus on those most.</P> <P>Get all your skills to adept1 or better. </P> <P>The AQ armor should get your to 30, where you want to talk to Hammer in Zek for some Emerald Hide.  At 40 You want to go gather or whatever you have to do to get into augmented crafted armor.</P>

Are there any particular pieces you guys see as stand out items that should be "must have"? The FBSS from EQ Live comes to mind, and the epic monk fists. Anything like that I should be looking for?<div></div>
