Not really. You can just delete *.ini files of old, because of chat system has been changed and fix it for yourself.

But since you as person don't want to do that, it is not channel problem.

Well taking your advice and deleteing all ini files and spending hours redoing my UI and chat settings guess what?

I still cant get in the chat channel :smileymad: Anymore bright ideas? I /petitioned also but got the same info. I dont wanna redo the UI again it takes too lang and I have raids to attend. Only options I guess for some of us is dont join you all on this channel or create a new one. Maybe SoE will fix this? Well if any monks wanna chat I am on the Butcherblock server.

it's not .ini files, its an issue with the channel server resetting and it bugging. You have to remember what number thechannel is, /leavechannel #, even if you can't type in it it will still leave, then you ned to relog, and then /join crushbone.allmonks. (log completly out, not to character select) This has always worked for me when this bug has occurred.

I have never had an issue with the channel until just a few days ago. Even then, the issue is limited to 1 character. My setup has not changed in the last 7 months.

I do not think a new channel needs to be created. I think SOE needs to confront this issue, as its not limited to 1 person (as seen by a number of people who are all having the same problem).

In that regard, its not a person issue.

For all of us who have spent hours trying to fix the apparent bug, wasted other monks on other servers time asking for help trying to fix the bug (thank you Gaige), sent bug reports over and over again, petitioned GM help, chatted with live tech support and posted on this board and accomplished nothing - I say we start a new Channel.

I understand this would circumvent the issue at hand somewhat, however taking the time to join another channel, to me, seems like a much easier and far less time consuming process for everyone in the community.

That being said, I would prefer to extend the opportunity to whoever initially set up the channel to start a new one as I do not want to step on any toes, highjack anything from anyone, or cause unnecessary confusion. If not, I will start and new one on Kithicor and encourage everyone who cannot get back to the original channel to join and those who made it through the bug to switch over.

Propose new channel to be, as aforementioned: crushbone.allmonk (no "s")

If this does not happen, I will start a new channel this evening (5:30 EST) which at the very least those of us who are left out can use:

kithicor.allmonks

well can you guarantee that any new channel doesnt get bugged? It's quite pointless creating a new channel every time someone gets bugged, instead of trying to get the bug fixed.

it couldnt hurt to create a new channel and ask the non-bugged monks to join both?

/chat join crushbone.allmonks

/chat join crushbone.allmonk

/shrug
