Ok so at 38 I have started harvesting for hitting 40 and my first night got lucky with a superb pelt, ebon, and a ruby. (Trying to trade that ebon for pelts as I dont think it is useful or is it?)

So here is my dilema..what order should rare items be given priority? I harvest alot and hope to eventually get all rare armor and 2 rare weapons. And as many adept 3's as are useful.

So if you can list which armor items in order of importance I would greatly appreciate it. Also any advice on which rare weapons would be great as well as the top spells in the 40's to upgrade! Thanks for any advice.

Message Edited by Lunah on 10-18-2005 08:49 AM

I would say it depends on what you do more often, Tank or DPS in groups, or do you solo most?
Secondly, What are you lacking most? Is your current gear T4 Rares? Is some of it treasured nonsense that you really want to upgrade?
As far as spells to upgrade in the 40s, Well if you plan on going all the way to 60 then I would reccomend getting your level 47 Spells and up upgraded because they are the ones that will never be upgraded again.

Personally, I went.
Weapons, Jewelery (Just pristine imbued bloodstone), Armor, Adept 3s.

And as far as trading the ebon for pelts, people will go with that, its a good deal; however you can still make use of the ebon /tell your local weaponsmith and ask him what Brawler weapons he can make out of an ebon .

To save $ a 2-handed weapon is always an option too.
Message Edited by Colossaltitan on 10-18-2005 12:01 PM

What I would recommend, as a level 46 monk, is the order that I took once I got to level 40 - Rare weapons first, Rare armor second (complete set) and Adepts III's starting at level 47 up, EXCEPT for your stances. I'd recommend you upgrade your stances to Adept III quality according to how you play - spider stance and winding dragon for sure. It will be a while before you're able to upgrade them - Level 58 for the balanced and defensive stances.

If you want to save money, buy some cedar and have an imbued cedar bo staff made. Cedar, at least on the Everfrost server, has been relatively cheap. That way you can focus the rest of your funds on your full set of T5 legendary armor which is definitely worth it IMO.

Oh, and sell or trade that ebon. Use the funds to upgrade your armor and weapons - with anything left, upgrade your stances and begin saving to upgrade your CA's starting at level 47 as they are not replaced.

Good luck!

What is the rare harvest that makes our Adept III's for T5 zones?

I went ahead and upgraded weapons(2 imbued cesti) first then armor(legs and chest augmented), I have to still do jewlery.

Krayzun

41 Monk

AB

Message Edited by Krayzon on 10-18-2005 02:34 PM

Rubies and Rhodium for T5 adept 3's I second JudyJudy's recomendation. I got a nice 2hb made first, then went for armour. Chest and legs first. And then upgraded whatever other peices in the order that needed it most. On my server, Neriak, ebon goes for anywhere between 80gp and 1pp and pelts and augmented leather pieces go for 25-40gp. So sell that ebon and you can probably get yourself 3 or 4 pieces of armour if you find some good prices. If you want to hold off on adept 3's till 47 when they aren't upgradable anymore, sell the rubies and rhodium too. same price as ebon on neriak. After I had all my armour I went for nice dual wield batons and hex dolls. Getting a piercing or slashing weapon made might be a good idea too if you have an extra ebon or pelt. If you find the right spot to harvest, and keep at it, you can easily get yourself geared in a week or 2 of dedicated casual play.

Right now I am in rare imbued tier 4 chest and legs, regular crafted armor for the rest with my rare imbued cesti and rare imbued quarterstaff. I have bought a regular tier 5 crafted set minus chest, tier 5 crafted jewelry, and am working on getting my adept 1's for 40-43. So with that first pelt I am thinking chest..would that sound like a good choice then legs then the rest? I am hoping to trade that ebon for 3 pelts/augmented pieces as prices on Perma are about a plat for ebon and 25 gold for pelts or augmented replacement parts. I think it is a fair trade..will see if anyone takes me up on it I guess.

Thanks for the recommendations so far! Any specific weapon you all prefer for 2hd, I up until now have been using a rare cesti and a rare quarterstaff each tier. So I am clueless what two handed weapon would be good to have made, but I do know an armorsmith who is 52 so can make whatever I decide on. :smileywink:

Yes I plan on taking this character to 60 as it is my main so guess I will hold onto that ruby for a 47 or higher spell or a stance that wont get upraded until late 50's. As for how i play I would say 50% main tank, 25% solo, and 25% dps. Again thanks for the info all. :smileyhappy:

Message Edited by Lunah on 10-18-2005 02:12 PM

Your plan sounds good. T5 imbued chest first, then pants. I used an imbued cedar bo until I got a sparkling greathammer (fabled drop off of Undertow in EF). The bo is a good 2H, with the excellent monk animations.

If you tank 50% of the time, you should (a) get the 2H as soon as possible, as you will really notice a difference and (b) try to get the armor pieces sooner, as you will REALLY notice a difference in the mitigation between T5 rare and T4 handcrafted.

Personally, I'd sell the ruby now instead of hanging onto it for a bunch of lvls and use the money to upgrade more immediate things.

Based on what you all said here I bought 3 more pieces for armor and got the chest, legs, shoulders, and bracers made. Traded my ebon to a guildie for a cedar and am having a cedar bo staff made for my 2hd weapon (thanks Gaige for the opinion on that).

So I figure I still need pelts/augmented pieces for gloves, helm, pouch and maybe belt. With the crafted Tier 5 jewelry I bought and my flowing orb necklace I should be ok for now in that department. The bo staff should be a nice weapon and I hope to get two nice rare dual wield weapons made before i hit 42. Thanks all for the advice! :smileywink:

Ouch, i hope you got 2 or 3 Cedars for that Ebon piece. Get a 2Hd imbued bo staff made... great slapping stick.

Also you dont have to have superb pelts you can go the augmented route. This is also T5 Rare and of equal quality, not sure if someone has previously mentioned this.

These are the looted equivalent of the superb quality hide you harvest. You will also notice there are far more bits of augmented for sale than pelts.

Items you should be looking for which will make your armor are :- Gashed augmented leather belt, Augmented leather strap and one more i believe, maybe someone else knows this.

Traded the ebon for a cedar even swap..didnt matter much to me as the ebon I wasn't going to use and just wanted to get my 2hd weapon made. I harvest alot so I hopefully will get more rares in Ferrott. And yep the augmented pieces(gashed augmented belt and torn augmented apron) is what I bought for armor 2-4 for some reason they are cheaper by 10 gold or more on Permafrost. Works for me to buy the replacememt rares as it let me buy more of them.

Good point with the belt, yet another heritage quest to start I guess. But FBSS should be worth it from what I have heard, I didn't play EQ so the heritages are all new to me. :smileyvery-happy:

Message Edited by Lunah on 10-19-2005 07:29 AM
