<DIV>Title pretty much says it all.  I just turned 32, and was considering investing in some nice legendary stuff.  Before I do that, I was hoping to get an idea of how long it will be before it's obsolete by other armors?  Anyone have an idea?  Thanks in advance.</DIV>

General speaking in the scheme of crafted gear it'll last you a few levels into T5 in comparison to common crafted gear. Legendary for the next tier will always be relevant as soon as you ding into that tier (for you that'd be T5 legendary dinging 40). I haven't compared though since they've changed it so mitigation doesn't scale. Stat-wise though engraved will last you till 44~.

I don't know the economy on your server or your financial status, but I advice to look for the rare pelts yourself. On Steamfont, the broker system is one giant scheme with astronomical rip off prices. (I kid you not). e.g. 1 piece of tier 4 legendary leather armor costs 70-80g. If you want a full set, you gonna have to pay 4.9 - 5.6 plat... for a tier 4 legendary outfit, that's without weapons and jewelry. Now, if you know it costs them less then 1g to make... you do the math and take conclusions. Check the broker if the pelts are cheaper, usually they are, and get them made by a good tailor. If you want to buy, buy 1 or 2 pelts, use them for chest and legs, those are most important and try to find to rest yourself and upgrade accordingly. I got a full set (7 pieces) in 2 days harvesting, it's boring and timeconsuming, but I prefer such "investment" rather then a financial rip off. I contacted some tailors, found one and he asked 1g per piece to make it. PS: I also got 3 Glimmering Teeth out of this process (you need one for a heritage quest anyway). <div></div>

Thanks for the responses.  I got lucky on a few extra rares while harvesting so I had a set made.  Nice stuf, but boy it's ugly.  Leather armor needs an overall!  Legendary stuff should be nice looking...not sure what they were thinking.

Yeah, had a set made the other day myself. It's better than etched at least ^_^You have a point though and it'd be one way they could give crafters more variety without worrying about balancing any new stats. Give them different recipes for the armor in the same spots. Like 'monk' chests/legs, etc that look 'monkish' while there might be a leather 'warrior' chest/arm/legs. They wouldn't be class-specific, but they'd have a look more along the lines of the class that would wear them.. all with the same stats for that slot.

In fact, I don't see why they never made armor class-restricted. If they do that, they can introduce nice outfits for every classes, especially for the Monks who have absolutely no identity. If you don't wear a Gi, you might as well be a Ranger or Fury, people don't see the difference. Class-restricted armor would also be more fair. e.g.: Mages can only wear Very Light Armor and e.g. Guardians can wear everything from Heavy Armor down. What this problem is, mages can have a robe with in-combat power regen, this one is very rare and very expensive because all classes want it. I've seen Templars wearing mage robes for those stats, guardians and such don't wear it for tanking, but use it for tradeskilling... Just because all those classes can wear it makes these robes insanely expensive and makes it for mages only more difficult to obtain one. Therefor I think class-restricted gear would be better for the community. <div></div>
