<DIV align=left>Well I have gone thru about 20 levels now without seeing a Light armor drop that is a upgrade for me over crafted. I have had to buy most of my armor as I went along.   Well tonight all that bad luck was rewarded with a master chest drop Light armor piece.  Well thanks to the AC being generically upped every medium armor person in the grp dove on it drooling like a feind.  In the end a Medium walked away wearing light armor pants to go with 2 other light armor parts they had on.   This was very upsetting as I swear plate rains from the heavens ( I lterally see 2 plate stat drops a day easy )   I find it very annoying that I can't get a drop since 80% of the classes will fight for it for stats.   I personally pass all Very light up for those that want I really wish other classes would get off light armor lol.  So in another 2 months I guess I get a chance to fight for a upgrade drop with half the game :smileymad:    Basically buy letting light armor AC go up for all classes its about the same as chain in alot of aspecs and the Rare light armor is barely better then the mid level medium so fighting for a drop in a grp is Insane and ver depressing.    Wish they would of added a class based AC increase instead of a generic as it has made rare light armor even harder to fight for now.   For people that look at me going "hey you were a robe tho" Ayup I do I did the quest solo and its was not a drop and was not taken for a Very light armor wearer.  But the beign trumped by Clerics and Mediums as I hear from others its clearly a problem.     Maybe Light armor drops will just become something I see soon we can only hope <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Heh heck I haven't seen one of my adept books drop in 19 levels now just to add insult to injury.</DIV>

<DIV>sounds like u need to make sure the group is nbg. first thing u need to let them know is that ur a tank i dont know of any tanks that wear medium armor i could be wrong. so the only reason the med wearer would want the light is for stats. at this point u just have to get persausive. with exception of the robe of the invoker i dont know many tanks that sack the ac wearing their normal gives them. i know your pain though i had a rare knuckler drop in rv awhile back that was godly but since it was a master drop nbg went out the window and a healer walked away with the knucklers i coulda used.</DIV><p>Message Edited by diamondmage on <span class=date_text>03-04-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:05 AM</span>

<DIV>That is just wrong...If I wore medium armor I would NEVER take a light armor piece from someone who can use it.  Every group I have been in since EQ2 went live has been NBG and this is the way I prefer it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In EQ1 it was a bit different, I preferred lotto no matter what, only because there was a limited set of available drops from any camp.  EQ2 is different offing drops of many types, and even though there may be some camps where some classes have the advanatage in drops, it equals out.  I wouldn't let it bother you, just keep doing what you are doing.  It wont affect your character that much, trust me.  You will outlevel that equipment very soon and have better things to look forward to.</DIV>

<DIV align=left>Thanks to the AC increase raw stats a master drop light piece will have better AC the medium so NBG as our grp was. (even tho some weren't sure as mobs will still active with adds)  Its an upgrade due to every class seeing the ac upgrade on light <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />    Before anyone could reconsider the Medium armor person had attuned and was happily trotting around <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />      Due to the raw ac on light being up to ALL classes it is just as viable to many medium armor people and even some heavy who are all over stats.    basically unless a grp of all friends Mediums mainly are all over drops.  Heard this happening to other lights also.  couple friends both warden, Furys have had the same happen numerous times.  Check out how many clerics are wearing Jumjum sleeves 12 wis Light armor but ya see Plate priests wearing them due to high wisdom.   All in all its very depressing as they do have a claim to them as they are "upgrades" but in the long run they trash them for there armor class upgrades.  basically VL = 1 set to choose from  L = 2 sets tho most stick to light  M= 3 sets DPS class and avoid hits not tanking so you seem them wearing all 3.  H = all sets period  Altho tanks are fine as they stick to heavy the Heavy priests tho wear all sets.   That massive lack of Light drops alone is Soooooo annoying.</DIV>

Bad enogh alot of quests give out horrid brawler weapons unless we choose a 2 hander for a caster lol

<DIV>thing is ur a tank and its your armor. that should mean u get the big nbg tag not some [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] that wants the armor for the stat bonus's u need it to keep you alive whereas the med's just want it for pool increases. </DIV>

Ayup, had a templar in my group the other day wearing only light armor. I think there needs to be something done, either increase medium armor stats, or lower light armor skill on classes able to wear medium / heavy.

I hear ya. Bascially people are greedy and you have to yell at them and make them feel guilty if you want to survive; that or get some real good friends that you learn to trust.Anyway, I have found that up through level 36 the cycle goes something like this: X0-X5 = crafted armor, X5-X9 = dropped armor. Fill in any number 2-4 for the X. I definately found this true for the 20's and 30's, still waiting on 40's which do seem like they break the mold a bit as I have seen a decent amount of dropped level 40-45 armor. But, in general I upgrade my armor and entire equip twice every ten levels, then throw in stuff I find that's better than what I have. Just to give you an example, I bought a full suit of the T4 crafted (pristine tailored etched) at level 30, and now at level 36 I do not have a single piece of that stuff:http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=113525106

He's nerfing himself horribly. As a templar who just happens to be passing by, I love being able to wear heavy armour. I would never wear light armour even if it had superb bonuses. The extra AC from heavy is just too useful, and unless you shop from NPC armoursmiths, it ought to have perfectly good bonuses of it's own.

<DIV>I see TONS of priests using light armor.  Either they're really cheap or they really biches in group.</DIV>
