Hum, yeah. No one should be able to ''change class'' and even worst, without betraying?? You press the button and you change class? What is this?<span><font color="#ffff00">When the <i>NEW </i>betrayal quest is implemented in an upcoming update we are currently considering allowing non-city specific classes to change to their correlating class (ie Warlock -> Wizard) <i>without </i>betraying. The penalties associated with the change (resetting all spells to Apprentice I) <i>would </i>still apply in this situation however.</font></span>How many guardians are going to be berserkers?<div></div>

It gives an unfair ability to neutral classes. I'm not sure if it even matters though. How many people are really considering changing classes? As far as guardians are concerned, some of them are not happy with their class. Those players did pick the wrong class. I don't think too many will find what they're looking for by switching to a berserker either. I am curious about how many berserkers are considering a switch to a guardian. I know I envy some of the stuff their class gets.</span></div>

Well Wizard > Warlock wouldnt need to betray. Both classes are nuetral. So anyclass you can use in both citoes you could change. But i assume you would still have to betray if you wanted a class of the oppisite cite (ie: Conjuror > Necromancer)~Ciphanic V'Rein~Necromancer of Shadowhaven

i dont think its an advantage at all considering all your spells are set back to app 1~Ciphanic V'Rein~Necromancer of Shadowhaven
<div></div><p>I think alot of it boils down to playstyle, Guardians are for people who have found themselves in raiding guilds while Zerkers tend to be for smaller groups and Soloing due to adding two aspecting tanking and DPS rather then just tanking.</p><p>Personally I think anyone is nuts to try to level a guardian 1-60 they just don't have the DPS to work with. With the new system 90% of the people that are smart and looking to do a guardian for raiding would roll a zerker for the high DPS in small groups and solo play to get to a suitable raiding level as soon as possible, then betray over.</p>

<div></div>Will there be Zerks switching to Guardians? I know i briefly just thought about it now that my guild doesnt have a guardian in the top spot....then i remembered I still would be the top choice for a tank anyway because of how i work as a tank, so i realized i shouldn't change, but it would be better for some.

I assume there will be some kind of quest involved and probably a timer before you can do it again. And at high level, the spells getting reset to app 1 is going to be really truly harsh.Yes, there will be people who "game" the system. But these are the people running around being powerlevelled and twinked to uberness anyway. They'll game whatever system is there. Look at it this way, those of us who play classes that are currently powerful because we love the class will have a good time laughing at them when they reclass to the flavor of the month and it gets nerfed a week later. If anything, I wish they'd open it up more and let us reclass completely within the four basic archetypes. It just doesn't bother me very much.<div></div>

<div></div>I fully support this option myself. The reason they are doing it is because since LU19 if someone of an evil race, for example, wants to betray to Qeynos and become a Paladin they have to be a Shadowknight first in order to do that. You choose your final class during character creation now instead of archetype. So they literally have to be able to change their class in order to betray. They are also removing the level requirements for betraying so that anyone can betray at any level. So lets say you have a level 60 Paladin that is tried of being a Paladin and is willing to betray to Freeport in order to become a Shadowknight instead. He will have the ability to do that in the expansion from what I've heard. Neutral classes, of course, will not be required to change their class when they betray. However they will be able to if they want. This creates a way for people of neutral classes to change their class as well. However, they should not be forced to betray to change their class because that just creates a problem were if someone of a neutral class wants to change their class they have to betray in order to change it and then betray again to go back to their home city if they didn't really want to betray in the first place, as in they only did it to change their class. Non-neutral classes must betray to change their class, that's just the way it is. So they are just making a separate quest for people of neutral classes to be able to change their class without betraying. I think it's a great idea. You know why? Because SOE can change our classes any time they want into anything they want. Look at all the talk around here of having the Berserker changed into a leather-wearing DPS class. I'm so sick of hearing that. But at least this way I will have the option to change my class and become a Guardian so I can still tank if they actually decide to go and do that some day, because that is exactly what I would have to do in order to keep playing this game. I am not interested in playing a pure DPS class and I am not interesting in starting a whole new character just because SOE decides to change my class into something totally different from what I picked last year. Don't get me wrong though, I love being a Berserker. I don't want to have to change my class ever but I am glad to know that they are putting the option in the game just in case I ever wind up having to.<div></div><p>Message Edited by infernus006 on <span class="date_text">02-20-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:04 PM</span></p>

Face it there is very little reason to be a Guardian if your not the raid MT, Zerkers get the same defensive bonuses and buffs, and much better offensive capabilities.. all guards get is some abilities to increase the amount of damage the healers have to heal.. awesome.</span></div>
Spells reseting is not that bad.Expansion is tomorow, most of the spells upgrade. The only ones you wont upgrade are the 57+..thats what, 10 spells?

<div></div>I have been thinking about making the change over to a guardian. I have been worring about holding agro like I have been on raids. Its just that all that extra defense is soo nice to have. But I would lose a ton of dps though. There is nothing like hitting that "Ohh [Removed for Content]" set of buttons and dropping everything around you. Loosing Gibe would be very tough too...that spell has saved many raids. Alas I am still undecided<div></div>

<i>"Loosing Gibe would be very tough too...that spell has saved many raids"</i>Guardians got a new AOE taunt thing as one of their Ancient Teachings as well. Instead of a straight hate increase and a hate proc that lasts for 30 seconds like IG though it's like an AOE version of Rescue because it increases the hate position of all the mobs that are hit with it on. I've heard they like to cast it and then use their AOE hit-taunt (Assault line) to get uber hate with grouped mobs and adds and I'm guessing that works just as good as IG if not better.<div></div>
