After much thought on this idea, and knowing there is no chance in hell of it happening, I decided to get some feedback.Right now I love my berserker and I think the class just rocks, but I do wish there was one change that could be made.My idea is for Chest slot items and possibly the arms as well, Berserkers would have what are called "Blood patterns". What these basically are are a set of runes/symbols/lines and patterns that a berserker *carves* into their skin. The continual sacrifice of small amounts of blood combined with the magic properties imbued from the flow and design of the patterns would grant the berserker their "stats". From level 1 it could be something as simple as a single circle in the center of the chest and would progress to T7 fabled Blood patterns that involved intricate runes combined with eaborate lines and shapes. If done right I think these would prove to be mighty impressive graphically and do much more for us lore wise then Heavy plate does.Speaking from a Lore perspective when a Berserker gets a new Pattern, they would allow a couple days for their current pattern to heal then would carve the new pattern into their skin. Realistically speaking I know this is probably a long shot chance in hell, but I thought I would get it out of my head at least and see what others think.

That idea is very similar to a game called "Mythica" that eventually never got out on the market (thx microsoft... they ruined the project)

The berserker in that game used tatoos instead of armor. The more tatoos, the more powerfull the Berserker was. Was a cool design for the class, but that will never come out in here.

EQ2 is the only game i know where Berserker actually uses heavy armor (plate). I actually love it, Berserkers were elite warriors, not dumb naked madman who would go into a frenzy in battle to come out limbless or dead after it.

Half naked Berserkers, or covered with wolves or bear clothes, existed in history, but the majority went to battle heavy armored. It was a "state of mind" that could go off anytime. Some induced that "state" with drugs and plants, in others it came out naturally.

Berserkers could be very disciplined and well trained warriors and when the "madness" came out, they would be even more dangerous, but be certain that the Goths (norse heritage ancestours) didnt defeat the Roman empire "naked" and many berserkers were among their ranks (off course, full plate armor didnt exist at the time, but they used the best they had, chainmail - at least the wealthiest of them)

Message Edited by Davish_Darkwolf on 02-07-200602:13 AM
