<div></div>I have a lv 25 berserker and he does nice damage with a 2 handed weapon, but I was wondering if berserkers should use a sheild sometimes and have a 1 handed weapon. anyway the question i need to know is should zerkers use a sheild for tanking as I sometimes do when im in a grp or stick to a two handed weapon?<div></div>

Depends how much damage you are taking. If you could use some extra avoidance from a shield because you are getting beating up too much, you should do so. But for most xp groups, I guess you don't realy need a shield, as long as you stay on blue/white heroics at least. As soon as you try harder mobs, named mobs or yellow mobs you probably should use a shield and let the damage to the other classes. <div></div>

ok 1 last question. can a zerker use two weapons at the same time like scout classes do with duel wield? or is it just limited to 2 hand or 1 hand and a sheild?<div></div>

<P>I always recommend maxxing out all skills and with a zerker 1h, 2h and duel wield is all an option. However later on in the game I have found that Duel wield and 1h with shield (ie defensive package) have become the only two I use. When im not MT or MA i go to duel wield. Guess it depends on what your job is during a raid/group. Being in a raiding guild and having a guild whos Guardians are decked out in pretty nice armor I tend to play the dps, buff roll and I use duel wield most of my play time. You just need to learn/know when the appropriate time to use 1h, or duel will be. Try em all and have fun learning..Just my thoughts..</P> <P> </P> <P>Ledic</P> <P>60 berserker oggok</P>

thx for answers. I always figured that 2 weapons would be alot more dps than a slower 2 handed weapon, and for those ^^^ mobs I can always switch to a good imbuned shield because my guild doesnt have any high guards just a few zerkers and pallys.<div></div>

<DIV>Used to be ... that the damage ratio's of dual wield weapons was exactly half that of a 2-handed weapon.  Using a two hander or dual wields would theoretically result in the same damage output.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not too long ago, they changed it - increased the damage ratio of dual-wield weapons.  The reason being that dual wields were resulting in slightly less damage when you threw typical combat arts - more auto-attack swings were missed while 'casting'.  Any way, the tweak is intended to fix it so that equivilent dual-wield and 2-handed weapons result in the same damage output. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So it really shouldn't matter.  Except that you want the best weapons you can get and a cobalt 2-hander will be about the same price and ONE cobalt dual-wield - so dual-wield is twice the cost.  Ideally you will have one-handed and two-handed crush, slash, pierce - 6 weapons.  Gets expensive. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I am in a group I am usually the tank - so a one hander, shield and defensive stance.  In raids - either a one hander if I am tanking or need to be ready to tank, or a 2 hander if I am acting as DPS - not expected to be taking over tanking. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But often I play with my fury friend - just us two.  So I am both the tank and most of our DPS.  I typically use a 2-hander+offensive stance for green encounters. Blue encounters is either a shield with offensive or no stance, or a 2-hander with defensive stance.  White and yellow encounters - and named blue ones - I always use a shield and defensive stance.  The stance can be changed pretty quick during a fight, swapping a shield in and out takes longer and is rather annoying. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A shield is also nice versus casters as you get one extra interupt/stun attack.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Theoretically, 2 fast - procing - weapons should mean more damage from procs.  But I haven't seen that.  Parsed a lot when I was using SSoy and an imbued quarter-staff and it seems the more procs you have, the less they go off.  If I recall, the problem was that if both procs have the same percentage of firing - say 5% left hand and 5% right hand - then they got in each other's way and didn't give more procs than a single 5% weapon would produce.    Your proc from offensive stance is 10%, an imbued weapon is 5%, so if you are looking for more procs by dual-wielding then look for a second weapon that is not procing 5% or 10% - look for 7%.  And check the buffs of people you typically group with to see what proc% those have. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I was a fan for DW before also. But I know it went like this pre LU13, that the delay when you were hasted went down to 1sec max. You couldn't get under 1sec delay. When you had a DW with a 1.2sec delay, you are very fast that that limit. So I always went for a 1hander or 2hander from there on. Because you have a bigger delay on those and could haste more. Now is a bit a different story. There is probaly still a lowest delay you can reach. I don't know the exact number. What I know is that, now you can buff haste, but also damage. So on a low delay weapon boosting the damage will have more effect then on a 2hander. And buffing haste (as long as you don't reach the limit) will be benefical to a 2hander and a DW weapon. So the damage gets buffed I would go for a DW. If the haste gets buffed I would go for 2hander. Most classes still buff haste. I think dirges buff damage. Zerkers when they go berserk buff both. Honestly I think 2handers look cooler then DW, that's why I use them <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
