<DIV>I have a lvl 20 zerker and i am having a little problem understanding the combat art skills.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some skills are indicated with a Sword icon.  I assume these are the DPS attacks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some skills are indicated with a Horn icon.  Are these enemy debuffs?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some skills are indicated with a Muscle Arm icon.  Are these self buffs?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then I see a skill with a Fist icon.  Is this also a DPS, and if so, why does it not have a Sword icon?  What's the difference?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have my group buffs on one hot-bar, and my defense and offense stance skills on another Hotbar.  The sword, horn, muscle arm and fist skills i have on one hot-bar and when i fight i start with my HOs and hit each skill one after the other.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Am i doing this all wrong?  Should target debuffs be cast on the enemy first, then use the DPS skills?  I need to know how you guys play and which skills are DPS, Self-buffs and enemy debuffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thx for helping me out, and after you get through laughing at me, please remember this, you once was a nOOb too when you first started playing the game...:smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>Those icons are used to determine which skills are used to advance heroic opportunities (HOs). There are 5 of them (sword, horn, fist, boot and arm) and they are all used in some HO sequences (solo fighter only uses sword and horn, however grouped HOs use the others).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Generally for Berserkers, horn = taunt, arm = buff, sword = weapon attack, boot = kick attack, fist = shield/fist attack, but this isn't 100% consistent.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For more info on Heroic Opportunites, do a forum search (or read the game manual) as there's plenty of information around.</DIV>

<div></div><div></div><div></div>ok here's how i generally do it...first if all disregard the icons of your ca's for now and just pay attention to the actual effects they do (right click and examine each one to find out) and try to memorize them the best you can.  i only use 4 hotbars.  top row has all my offensive single-target ca's on one side and aoe damage ca's at the end.  second row includes all primary taunts on one side and short-term damage buffs on the other.  third row starts with all my perma buffs (both personal and group ones that stay on at all times) and ends with short-term defense buffs.  4th row is all enemy mastry skills and other misc things i need but don't need to click that often.  not that you should do yours exactly like mine but maybe this will give you an idea on how to make a setup that will work for you.  you will get used to the actual icons of the ca's and learn to recognize them better the more you play. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/infernus006/zerker_hotbars.jpg"> as far as debuffs go, zerkers don't get that many.  at level 60 i have a total of 3.  they are on the same hotbar as all my other single-target offensive ca's because they also do damage at the same time.  and as far as heroic opportunities go, they aren't usually that hard to figure out since the appropriate icons will flash on your hotbar to indicate they can be used to advance the HO. well good luck, i hope this helps you out. oh one more thing, the horn icon indicates a taunt.  a taunt is a special ca that specifically causes the mob you use it on to hate you more.  this is necessary when you are tanking for groups and must keep aggro.<p>Message Edited by infernus006 on <span class=date_text>12-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:04 PM</span>
