i left eq2 a few months ago when they made my lvl 50 beserker less fun to play then decided to really stick it to us, I Know there are some new or relatively new beserkers that didnt play since release that might not have felt the loss of some of us veterans, but getting to my point. What exactly is defining about a zerker that another class cant do better or equally, it used to be nice aoe damage, then it was uber taunt, among a few other things im too forlorn to mention. I miss playin my char i invested alot of pp and time into him an kinda feel jipped. Im not really seeing any of my views on the boards, am i alone on this topic, or just confused. feel free to flame i really dont mind much anymore :smileyvery-happy: to clarify, i feel berserkers have lost any uniqueness that we once had and there is really no drawing power left to playing a berserker in everbeta.
Message Edited by bathory610 on 06-02-2005 02:08 AM

They are still a top damage dealer and the second best tank. Mainly in raids they are dps, and dps is big in raids.

I did not played the beta, but I played at the beginning of the game, I miss the DPS we used to have (back to november-december). SOE nerfed it a lot. SOE also nerfed Bloodlust. But complaining will not bring the DPS back, so I just deal with it. However I am afraid of what the new combat changes will bring, I am level 49, hoping soon to be 50 and play for a while before the changes apply and spoil everything. I know they are testing it, but I have a bad feeling about this...

What Khalad said, especially on aoe encounters, and we got our group haste buffs back (which all other melee in group love) and in my opinion still have the best taunts in game.

An ya I too have a bad feeling about the new coming combat changes, just going to enjoy it while it lasts

Braxus 50 berserker

Message Edited by Deedbit on 06-02-2005 07:23 AM

Message Edited by Deedbit on 06-02-2005 04:41 PM

They nerfed Berserker aggro? When?My Zerker is relatively new (been playing him for about 2-3 months) so maybe I missed it.I have always felt that Berserkers were Kings of Aggro. We also have excellent DPS in the right situations (in the middle of hordes of mobs). When I created my Berserker I knew that DPS nerfs were possible, even probable. That was okay by me, I made him to be a tank, not a damage-dealer. I'm not worried that SOE will hit his defenses too badly. In the end I'm playing a Berserker because it fits my character best. That's all the draw I need.

The "nerf" to berserker agro wasn't really a nerf, it was insanely overpowered. Bloodlust basically sent you into berserk every single time you hit the mob. I leveled to 50 without taunts on my bar due to that buff generating so much agro. These days, promise of violence is good enough to get agro usually in one shot. DPS wise we are still real [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] good. I am in a top raiding guild and usually near the top dps wise, specually on AE.

Edit: I can't say Dam:n?

Message Edited by Khalad on 06-02-2005 11:16 PM

That's indirect, at most, and doesn't take away from the aggro that we do build from the Berserks that we get otherwise. Heck, my Zerker holds aggro so easily that when I do run into challenges I fumble a bit because my "clutch skills" are rusty. You want distinction, bathory610? Berserkers are Kings of Aggro, and I suspect they will stay that way. Team up with a Warden and Warlock, flex your taunts, buffs, and zerks, and watch the Warlock burn the mobs down while the Warden darn near spam-heals you ... and the mobs stay glued to you. How's that for distiction?P.S. Nope, faarbot has forbidden the d--- word. Probably for the best, although "darn" just doesn't seem to do the topic justice sometimes.
