I'm sure the Ironplate Shielding will be more popular now. 1) it looks like a towershield, so no gimpy little square bucklers anymore lol. 2) it's got about 390 protection on it. 3) it's got +20 to agi,sta and str.Just out of interest, apart from the Flapping Wing buckler, what did the other ones look like? Especially the Azjerorz Guard? I can post screenies of the Flapping and Ironplate of you like.

well after doing some testing,

pre nerf the bucklers gave with 8 ranks in the 4th rank a base 16% chance to block, after nerf with 8 ranks iin the the 4th rank the base block rate is 10% chance to block, and you lose 2.5 % to 3 % avoidence as well,

so overall while it seems a massive nerf, soe actually could have just dropped the block chance and not touched the " protection " value at all, im guessing that this change will be negligable in most case's, as quite frankly with the mods raid mobs have to hit, a base of 16% or 10% is no diff at all.

I would love to see pics of all 3 of the bucklers - the one above? the guard buckler? which one is that

So EK you staying with Sta line after the nerf? You really think the added dps will make up for a 15percent decrease in avoidance...and I know the argument that epics have such a bonus +to hit that it wont make big a difference...But Im thinking that even if that 15 percent is 1 outa 10 hits on a mob like Tarinax thats 5-7k every 30seconds or so...big difference in tanking to me.

Personally I think the straight +dps +mitigation +haste +parry is going to be the best set up for accomplished raiding tanks in raiding guilds. I do think tho that guilds just starting out in T7 raiding and that are still not completely decked out across the board should go for the 100percent parry in the agi line.

yeah im looking at the str line or the int line, dont think ill stay with the stam line,

im guessing that the melee crit chance 8 ranks will with the + hate gain would possibly equalise the amount of hate generated from the double attack line atm,

but the parry does seem a nice alternative to the dps line maybe int 4/4/8/8 and wis 4/4/8/8

or wis 4/4/8/8 or str 4/4/8/8, i think ill probably try them both out in labs or someplace where i can do the full raid and it not be a massive detriment to test it out.

I really hate SOE. Just spent 10 plat on a flapping wing buckler to replace my ironplate. Life sucks

I think it is important to try to understand Sony's ideas behind each line. The stamina line looks like the Guardians offensive line to me, so you have to expect it to reduce your defenses correspondingly.

Then don't put in 900+ bucklers in the first place. It just really pisses me off that I threw away money on something that's going to be nerfed in a week or two to the point that the item I'd picked up for 1 plat will be better.

Just put the item back on sale, hope for a good price and go back to ironplate. Complaining here on the boards doesn't really help...

Crim, Yes, I know these things happen and yes, I do check the boards frequently. The notice about the shields was added to the test update notes on 6/5. I bought the shield on 6/6 (I don't read the test boards every single day but I do read them multiple times a week) It's one thing to bring something down a notch, but to knock /two thirds/ of the shield factor off? That's not an adjustment that's a royal f*** up.

It's a buckler getting nerfed to buckler stats.

Besides, if you needed that buckler in order to tank, that's pretty sad. As for the 10p lost, just put it back on sale and suck it up. If anyone has a right to complain, its the other guards on here who have spent 13p (I think thats what it was...) to respec their AA so that they could post the stats on the boards.

Just put it back on sale? You do /play/ EQ2, don't you? You can't re-sell...otherwise I would just put it up for re-sale and take the loss. So unless they un-attune it for me (which ain't gonna happen) I have to just suck up the loss. Point is, SOE doesn't pay enough attention to what they put in the game to start with. As a result, people like me get screwed because of 'bad timing'. And sorry, no, I don't feel sorry for people who paid tons of plat just to try out every variation of AAs to see how they worked.

You bought the buckler, so if you don't like it after you attuned it, sell it to a vendor, go back to the one you thought was better, and don't complain about the plat you spent.

Btw...about the second bold part....someones going to get screwed over by a nerf no matter what, you should know that by now. Also, I'm not asking you to feel sorry, I'm just saying they have more of a right to complain.

--This is turning into a flame war.....last post.
